Activities
The charity offers a range of activities including worship meetings, groups for a range of ages and interests (eg language cafe, youth group, knitting group, toddler group, community cafe/hub/warm space), a food bank, social evenings (eg bingo, comedy nights) and occasional seasonal events for the wider community. The activities take place mainly at or near the Hope Centre, Weston.
Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:(1) To Advance The Christian Religion In The Community Of Weston And The Surrounding Areas Of Southampton For The Benefit Of The Public By Means Of, But Not Exclusively, The Holding Of Public Meetings Of Prayer And Worship, Running Educational Courses, Promoting Global Mission, And Producing And/or Distributing Messages Of An Evangelistic And Teaching Nature.(2) To Benefit The Residents Of Weston And The Surrounding Areas Of Southampton, Without Distinction Of Sex, Sexual Orientation, Race Or Of Political, Religious Or Other Opinions, By Associating Together The Said Residents And The Local Authorities, Voluntary And Other Organisations In A Common Effort To Advance Education And To Provide Facilities In The Interests Of Social Welfare For Recreation And Leisure Time Occupation With The Objective Of Improving The Conditions Of Life For The Residents.in Furtherance Of These Objects But Not Otherwise, The Trustees Shall Have Power:to Establish Or Secure The Establishment Of A Community Centre And To Maintain Or Manage Or Co-Operate With Any Statutory Authority In The Maintenance And Management Of Such A Centre For Activities Promoted By The Charity In Furtherance Of The Above Objects.
