The trustees present their report and the financial statement of Ward Freman Community Pool
Group CIO (WFCPG) for thè year ending 31st Dacamber 2025.
Objectives and Activities
Charitable Objeclives
The WFCPG was estsblished to promote for the benefit of the public at large, in partI￿J[ar but
not exclusively those living in Hertft)rdshire and the surrounding areas. the provision of facilities
for recreation or other leisure time cwjpation in the interests of social y￿lfare and with the
object of improving the condition of life of the said inhabitants.
The first facility it wishes to provide is the Ward F￿rnan swimming pool, which was closed by
the local authority in De￿rnber 2023.
Charitable Activities
Whilst the Ward Freman swimming pTr)I remained dowj. during 2025. the WFCPG has
focused on charilable actiwts'es to raise awareness and funds to reopen the pool. It has hosted
fundraising events such as quizzes and table-top sales. It has also been represented at the
Buntingford, Reed and Cottered annual townlparish meetings. ensuring Ihe swimming pool is
nol forgolten.
Achlevements and perfOrn￿nce
The WFCPG has continued to work with Hertfordshire County Council {HCC). East Herts
Districl Council {EHDC), Everyone Aclive and selected contractors to obtsin an accurdte scale
of works required to reopen the prJ)l.
The Business plan stCM)d up to suutiny by HCC'S extemal cx)nsultant, Lambert Smith Hampton
and resulted in HCC offering WFCPG the freehokl, which we hope to complete in April 2026.
Promotion of the WFCPG chaiity at numerous events has resulted in over 900 people signing
up to be Pool Supporters, r￿1VIng regular (at least monthly) updates via ernail about the
WFCPG activities and athievements. This has helped to recrurt volunteers to attend events and
make donations of bwks and cakes.

Financial Review
We continue to build reseNes in antictpation of the freehold transfer (April 2026) when our
Phaso One repairs wll co[nmen￿. ExFenditure has therefore been on expenses incurred
during fundraising actsvib'es and insurance.
WFCPG has generated a Total In￿me for the year ending 31st DecEmber 2025 of £33,430,
with Expenditure of £4.956. This equates to Net Income of £28.474.

in thre8 linked Natwest bank accounts). There were zero liabilities.

The WFCPG is govemed by our (￿nS￿tUt1c￿ as agr￿1 on 5th April 2024 as a Charitable
Incoryx)rated Organisation (CIO). First Trustees were recruited following public consultation in
January 2024 arKI hold office for erther 4 or 3 years ensuring that all tmstees do nol slep down
at the same lime.

## **Independent examiner’s report on the accounts** 

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Ward Freman Community Pool Group CIO for the year ended 31[st] December 2025. 

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

I have completed my examination.  I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: 

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or 

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or 

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
