## **2. Structure, Governance and Management** 

Love and Loss is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by a constitution adopted on [insert date]. The charity is led by a Board of Trustees, who meet quarterly and oversee the charity’s strategic direction, governance, and financial accountability. 

Trustees are appointed according to the constitution and receive induction and guidance to ensure they understand their duties. 

## **3. Objectives and Activities** 

## **Charitable Objectives:** 

**THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEED, PRIMARILY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY IN THE LONDON AREA, BY REASON OF SUFFERING MENTAL ILL-HEALTH AS A RESULT OF BEREAVEMENT FROM THE LOSS FAMILY OR FRIENDS AS A RESULT OF VIOLENT** 



**CRIME, INCLUDING KNIFE CRIME, OR FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, THROUGH THE PROVISION OF: I. GRANTS TO FUND RECOGNISED THERAPY, COUNSELLING, AND/OR FUNERAL EXPENSES. II.RAISING AWARENESS OF THE DANGERS OF VIOLENT CRIME, INCLUDING KNIFE CRIME AND THE IMPACT ON FAMILIES AND THE WIDER COMMUNITY. III. PROVIDING PEER SUPPORT GROUPS.** 

To support individuals and communities impacted by bereavement through violence, trauma informed support, with a focus on underrepresented and marginalised communities. Providing access to support, signposting and peer support through the ongoing challenges and associated distress and hardship. 

## **We aim to:** 

- Provide grief support and trauma-informed resources 

- Promote youth mentorship and crime prevention. 

- Raise awareness through events, storytelling, and partnerships 

## **Public Benefit:** 

The trustees confirm they have considered the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit when planning and reviewing the charity’s activities. 

## **4. Achievements and Performance** 

## **Key Highlights in 2024:** 

## **Peer Support (Ongoing)** 

Monthly grief support groups for bereaved parents and siblings, continuing to grow in attendance and impact. We aim to increase the number of peer support groups we facilitate to cover a wider area across London and the UK in order to increase our impact and support more of those in need. 

## **Adidas-No more Red** 

Continued Partnership with Adidas x Arsenal on the No more Red Campaign. Raising awareness and campaigning against Youth Violence. 

## **5. Financial Review** 

For the year ending 2025 the charity’s total income was **£5577** and total expenditure was **£1200**

- Grants - £3500 

## **6. Reserves Policy** 



The trustees aim to hold unrestricted reserves equal to **three months of operating costs** , ensuring stability and continuity of services. 

## **7. Plans for the Future** 

Looking ahead to 2026, Love and Loss intends to: 

- Youth mentorship programme and hubs 

- Launch an online grief support hub 

- Deliver “Love and Loss Dinner’ – a community and awareness campaign to address and support grief and loneliness in the festive period. 

- Gain and strengthen fundraising  partnerships and volunteer networks 

- Community Wellbeing events for families and loved ones affected 

## **8. Risk Management** 

Key risks identified and mitigated: 

- **Funding sustainability** – Diversifying income streams 

- **Volunteer retention** – Training and recognition initiatives 

- **Safeguarding** – DBS checks and safeguarding training for all staff/volunteers 

## **9. Trustees’ Responsibilities** 

Trustees are responsible for preparing this annual report and the accounts in accordance with the Charities Act 2011. They must maintain proper records and ensure the accounts give a true and fair view.
