This is our first reporting period which starts on P April 2024 and is therefore greater
than 12 months. Our next reporting period will be for tbe 12 months ending 315t August
2026.

Trustees are co-opted on the following basi
Trnstees are drawn from the three representstive stakeholder groups, being the village
of Skelton-on-ure. the Newby Estat4 and the local Angliwi benefice, where
possible. One trustee chairs the group (typically six members) and at least one trustee
is considered the lead Operational Tmstee. Trustees will typically serve for a
minimum of three years (renewabIe).

2. Charitable Purposes and Public BenefRt
Objetts of the charity:
For the public benefiL to promote the preservation, maintenanc4 and improvement of the
fabric, futnishings and fittings of Christ the Consoler Newby Hall.

Public benefit statement:
rriends of Christ the Consoler delivers public benefit by suppoming the work of the Churches
Conservation Trust (the church was vested in 1991) through conservation, maintenance.
stewardship, and the organisation of services and even￿ bringing life to this nationaIly
important Grade I listed forner Parish Church.
Trustees confirm that all activtties carried out during the year further these purposes for the
public benefit.
3. Achievements and Performance
Summary of activities:
Supporting tbe conservation of the building in conjunction with the Churches
Conservation Trust (CCT)
Organising a programme of services and events (see www.christthe¢onsoleT.com)
Ptepating the launch of Project 150 (Conservation heating and Pipe Organ
restoration)
Notable achievements:
During this perio￿ we have welcomed over 1500 visitors to the ¢hurcM 1100 people
to our event4 and 800 people to our Services. Our events have included theatre. a
nationally-acclaimed String quarteL an international Steinway pianist. a jazz & blues
evening. a Norwegian Brass Band, and an award winning male voice choir.
Our services have supported the growth in attendance of our local St Helen's Church
and we are extremely well supported by the clergy of the local Benefice.
We have undertaken a programme of conservation cleaning and also worked with the
CCT to identify risks early and manage areas of concern which they will address in
due course.
We have increased th¢ donations from visitors and venue hire revenue for the CCT.

Expenditure for the period: £8,854
Summary of assets and reserves:
Total assets at period-end.. £13.726
Reserves policy: The trustees aim to hold sufficient reserves to cover operating wsts
to ensure sustainability.
No funds were held for other purposes outside of charitable objectives.
Futsre plans:
We are launching our ambitious Project 150 (£250,000) alongside our continued work
to bring life to the church through events and services.
