Trustees' Report
The trustees present the annual report for the period ended 31 December 2024. The charity was registered with the Charity Commission on 2 April 2024 and was inactive during the period. The assets of Riverside Church (Southwell) (number 1124850) were transferred to the charity in January 2025, the Trustees of that charity having concluded that the long term interests of the Church would be best served by becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).
Structure, governance and management
Nature of governing document
The charity is operated under the rules of its constitution dated 4 March 2024.
Recruitment and appointment of trustees
Riverside Church seek the appointment of new Trustees from within the Church. Individuals are selected based on Christian maturity, leadership ability and professional expertise.
New Trustees are appointed by the Senior Leaders, as the recognised spiritual leaders of the church, in consultation with the existing Trustees.
Objectives and activities
Objects and aims

the advancement of the Christian faith in accordance with the Basis of Faith, primarily, but not exclusively, within Southwell and the surrounding neighbourhood; and

such other charitable purposes as shall, in the opinion of the charity trustees, put into practice the Christian faith in accordance with the Basis of Faith, including but not limited to: the prevention and relief of need, hardship and sickness; the advancement of education; and the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life;
Public benefit
The trustees consider that the activities undertaken by Riverside Church (Southwell) provide a public benefit to those who are members of the fellowship and those in the wider community.
The trustees confirm that they have complied with the requirements of section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities
The trustees are responsible for preparing the trustees' report in accordance with the applicable law and regulations.
The trustees are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of the corporate and financial information included on the charitable company's website. Legislation governing the preparation and dissemination of financial statements may differ from legislation in other jurisdictions.
