Trustees’ Annual Report

For the year ended 31 December 2024

1. Structure, Governance and Management

SikhRI UK is a registered charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) governed by its constitution. The trustees are appointed in accordance with the procedures set out in the constitution. The board of trustees holds regular meetings to oversee the strategy, operations, compliance, and financial management of the charity. No trustee received any remuneration or expenses during the year.

2. Objectives and Activities

The charity’s principal objective is to advance education and understanding of the Sikh faith, history, and values. SikhRI UK achieves this through structured educational programmes, community engagement, events, and digital resources. All charitable activities are carried out in line with the charity’s objects and are designed to provide benefit to the public. In planning our activities, the trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit.

3. Achievements and Performance

During the reporting year, SikhRI UK delivered impactful educational initiatives including the Gurmat-based TGGSP programme and the Sidak leadership course. These programmes were delivered in collaboration with international offices and supported by volunteer networks. The charity expanded its reach through digital platforms, including webinars and recorded content, making resources widely accessible. Feedback and impact assessment from participants indicate strong alignment with the charity’s mission and positive outcomes for learning and community development.

4. Financial Review

The charity received total income of £337,450.20, including £317,400.24 in restricted funding and £20,049.96 in unrestricted donations. Expenses incurred were minimal and related to banking charges and the cost of independent examination, with all programme expenses met by the USA head office. At year end, the charity held a total fund balance of £336,784.30. The trustees consider this a stable position and are committed to maintaining reserves at a level sufficient to cover operational costs and future obligations.

5. Plans for the Future

SikhRI UK plans to expand its educational offerings through new partnerships, enhance its digital learning library, and continue strengthening its presence across the UK. The trustees remain focused on delivering quality educational content and ensuring that the charity’s resources are deployed for maximum public benefit.

Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of SikhRI UK

I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of SIKHRI UK for the year ended 31 December 2024.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the trustees of the charity you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act).

I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s financial statements carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act.

Independent examiner’s statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1. 1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the 2011 Act; or
2. 1. the financial statements do not accord with those records; or
3. 1. the financial statements do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of financial statements set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the financial statements give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the financial statements to be reached.

1. Income from Donations and Legacies

The charity received total donations of £337,450.20 during the year, allocated as follows:

The restricted funds were specifically designated by donors for the delivery of the TGGSP education program and the Sidak community learning program. These funds must be applied solely for these purposes.

Unrestricted funds are available for general use at the discretion of the trustees.

2. Expenditure on Charitable Activities

Expenses for the year were limited to essential administrative costs:

• Stripe processing fees: £35.90 (Unrestricted)

• Independent examiner’s fee: £630.00 (Unrestricted)

3. Related Party Transactions

There were no related party transactions during the year.

4. Trustee Remuneration and Expenses

No trustee received any remuneration or was reimbursed for any expenses during the financial year.
