those with a disability. The benefits of
social interaction are also just as important
for the parents and carers of our clients,
who can meet and build social networks
with those who have similar issues to deal
with.

volunteers without whom we would not
exist. Our volunteers not only deliver all our
rides; they spend time interacting with our
clients and their parents or carers at our
sessions; they assist with transporting our
bikes between sites; put out traffic warning
signs; undertake first aid and safeguarding
training; service our bikes; attend
committee meetings; make hot drinks; and
one of our volunteers has contributed
hundreds of hours to building us a fantastic
interactive website. We are truly a totally
volunteer led organisation.

whole.		 Para 1.20 First launched in 2022, we began in
earnest providing regular group cycling
sessions to adults from Spring 2023, and in
that time, we have delivered well over 500
rides to over 120 different clients, fully
meeting our aims and objectives.
The past 12 months have been very
successful. We have delivered 268 adult
rides across 48 sessions, operating from
our sites at Earsham and Topcroft.
We launched our junior group sessions at
Easter 2024, and since then, including our
attendance for the SENFEST event day at
Easton College, and the Long Stratton
Youth Café sessions, we have delivered
160 junior rides across 12 sessions in the
school holidays.
With our specialised cycles we can get
almost anyone with a disability, infirmity or
recovering from injury or illness out cycling
with us. Our clients have disability or
infirmity, ranging from cerebral palsy,
learning disability, global development
syndrome, multiple sclerosis, dementia,
stroke recovery, and an amputee, as well

as a number of clients who have not disclosed their disability. Many of these clients, according to them or their parents/carers had undertaken no exercise prior to their attending our sessions. Feedback from both groups has been extremely positive. A local SENSE College senior trainer has emailed our Chair to state how blessed they felt to have found an outdoor fun activity they could do with their clients, a group of six, and to thank BikeActive Norfolk and its volunteers for supplying such a wonderful activity for the college’s trainees, all of whom have profound disabilities. Another carer for a client of the adult group has regularly written outlining how the group has given his client something that they look forward to doing each week. Previously they had no access to exercise and little social intercourse. Joining us at a local café after the ride and being with our group of volunteers had proven a particular joy for the client concerned. A mother of one of our junior clients expressed how delighted she was to find the Junior group, as she had struggled to find anything for her severely physically disabled son to do during school holidays. Coming to our Junior group session has become a highlight of their school holidays, and given her a chance to mix with other parents whose children have similar difficulties. As a wholly voluntary and newly formed organisation we have been delighted to have been nominated for the 2025 South Norfolk Community Awards having been nominated by our clients/ carers.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above
charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 05/04/2025.
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011
(“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
