Okehampton Men In Sheds Charitywas registered with the Charity Commission on 25 March
2024, following submission of a 'Constitution of a Charitoble Incorporoted Orgonis¢7tion
whose only voting members ore its charity tnistees ('Foundation' model constitution)..
The objert of the Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO} is 70 promote sociol inclusion
for the public benefit by preventing people. particularly but not exclusively men L7ged 18 or
over, within Okehampton and the surmunding areo. from becoming socialty excluded,
relieving the needs of those people who are sociolly excluded and ossisting them to integrate
into soclety through the provision offocilities in which they can meet to undertoke creative,
physirol or recreotional artivities. leorn or pass on skills and knowledge, and sUPPOrt eoch
other sociolly.
The CIO took over all the activities and the funds from Okehampton Men In Sheds CIC after
which the CIC was wound up and removed from the Companies House register on 3
December 2024.

Trustees Report
The Trustees met 6 time5 from the inception of the new charityto the end of tts financial
year. An agenda was prepared for each meeting- any potential conflicts of interest were
declared and minutes of the meetings kept.
The Trustees first tasks were to establish a good set of policies and make these available to
all involved: after which, the winding down of the existing Communrty Interest Company
began so that all assets and liabilities were transferred to the new charity.
The'shed, is open for 3 days a week and we have 35 registered attendees. The'shed, is
based in a hut next to the Okehampton Community Garden and we are very grateful to the
Okehampton Foundation for their support.
The first full year as a charity has been successful. There ha5 been an increase in the
number of projects undertaken, benefiting both the local cornmunity and the members of
the 'Shed'. We worked with many local community organisations includin8 Castleham la
residential care homel, Oakleigh and St. Olafs {'assisted livin￿ homes) where we replaced a
ga2ebo; we worked for the local British legion, replacing a fire door and made 22 bird boxes
for the Devon Wildlrfe Fund. Over a dozen projects were delivered by the'shedsters,.
Future
With the growing number of community projects, we are keen to find a bigger location. Our
current 'shed' 15 quite restrictive and means we have to find other locations to store our
equipment and minibus. We are exploring a number of possibiltties.
We are also keen to build partnership arrangements with local businesses. We are pleased
to be working with Tinhay {Building Supplies) who supported us in our entry for the annual
Soapbox Derby1£3651.
Flnantes and Reserves
Although we made a defictt of £1,629 in the year, this was experted. It was mainly due to
purchasing some equipment in orderto undertake more community projects.
Our income of £5,497 was made up of general donations of £3,337 and projett donations of
£1,259. We were delighted to get a grant from the David Gibbons Foundation1£7151,
enabling us to build a shed for a young man studyingfor his GCSES.
Although our van cost £1,571 to run, it is essential to the effective running of the 'Shed'.
Our reserves of £8,021 are completely unrestricted.

To the Okehampton Men in Sheds
I report on the accounts of the charity Okehampton Men in Sheds for the year ended 31 March 2025 which
aTe attached on pages 2-5.
Respective responsibilities of the Charity and examiner
The charity are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity consider that an audit is not
required for this year (under section 144 of the Charities Aci 2011) and that an independent examination is
needed.

Examine the accounts (under section 145 of the Charities Act) ,
To follow the procedures laid down in th¢ General Directions given by the Charity
Commissioners (under section 145 (5) (b) of the Charities Acl) '. and
To state whether particular matters have come to my attenlion.
Basis of examiner's statement
My examination was Ca￿led oul in accordance with the general direction5 given by the Charity
Commissioners. An examination includes a review of ihe accounting ￿CordS kept by the charity and a
comparison of the accounts presented with thosc records. It also includes consideration of any unusuaI items
or disclosurcs in th¢ accounts, and seeking explanations from you concerning any such matters. The
procedures undcrtakcn do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently
no opinion is given as to whether the accounts prescnt a'true and fair" view and the report 15 limited to
those matters set out in the ststement below.

In connection wtth my examination, no material matters have come to my attention which gives me cause to
believe that. in any material respect -
