The trustees have pleasure in presenting their report and the audited financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2024.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The Objects of New Leaf Derbyshire CIO are:
The relief of those in need because of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantages in Derbyshire, by providing such persons with goods/services which they could not otherwise afford through lack of means.
SUMMARY OF THE MAIN ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN RELATION TO THESE OBJECTS
The main activities undertaken by the CIO:

Receiving referrals from NHS Primary Care Networks, Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Fire Services, who have identified people in need because of age, illhealth, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantages, who would benefit from the services we provide.

Providing Practical and Pastoral Support for people in need because of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantages, which includes: -

Carrying out repairs, maintenance, and improvements to the home.

De-cluttering, general tidying, and initial cleaning to improve hygiene and comfort.

Implementing new ways to organise the home i.e., building and fitting shelf units/storage systems, etc.
-
Sourcing and supplying items of furniture (tables/chairs/cupboards/shelf units/etc).
-
Painting & decorating.
-
Gardening.
-
Befriending services to further reduce loneliness and isolation.

Signposting to services and organisations to enable beneficiaries to access specialist support and access the services available to them within the community. This includes (but is not limited to) financial assistance, benefits advice, debt advice, support for drug/alcohol/substance misuse, support for disabilities, etc, plus signing on with a doctor/dentist and accessing social groups.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
The trustees are once again very proud of our continued achievements and high standing in the voluntary sector in Derbyshire.
We were very fortunate to receive funding through the National Lottery Awards for All, Albert Hunt Trust, Allen Lane Foundation and donations from the public. We are very grateful for all the support we received.
Services provided 2024
We are very proud to report that we provided practical and pastoral support for 78 households. The support we provided included carrying out repairs, maintenance, and improvements to the home; de-cluttering, general tidying, and initial cleaning; implementing new ways to organise the home; sourcing and supplying items of furniture; befriending services to reduce loneliness and isolation; and signposting to services and organisations to enable households to access specialist support and access the services available to them within the community.
We have also recruited and trained 15 additional volunteers. We now have team of 29 registered volunteers, of which 17 are actively working in a variety of roles.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Reserves Policy
The charity has a reserves policy to hold three months running costs in reserves. On 31 December 2024 the charity had unrestricted reserves of £3,805
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing document
New Leaf Derbyshire CIO is based at Angel Cottage, Main Street Kniveton Ashbourne DE61JH, which is the charity's registered office and the principal address of the charity. New Leaf Derbyshire CIO is a Registered Charity (No. 1207539). This is in accordance with the charity's governing document, the Memorandum and Articles of Association, incorporated on 20[th] March 2024.
Trustee selection methods
A skills audit has been undertaken to discover those skills which are required by the trustee body. Efforts are made to recruit trustees who meet the skill requirement.

Risk management policy
The trustees examine the major risks that the charity faces each financial year when preparing and updating the strategic plan. The charity has developed systems to monitor and control these risks to mitigate any impact that they may have on the charity in the future.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of New Life Derbyshire CIO
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2024 which are set out on pages 6 to 8.
Respective responsibilities of the trustees and examiner
As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or
-
the accounts do not accord with the accounting records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

On the 20th March 2024 New Leaf Derbyshire became a registered CIO. The assets held by the New Leaf Derbyshire CIC were transferred to the charity at that date. The assets amounted to £27565.
