Page 1 **Feeling Social Community** **Chairperson's Report for the Period 20 March 2024 to 31 July 2025** Feeling Social Community was established as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation to improve mental health outcomes and digital resilience within communities, particularly for young people and those supporting them. As a newly established charity, the organisation has operated during this reporting period with limited resources and a small leadership team led by founder and trustee Ben Anderson. During its early stages, Feeling Social Group Ltd provided an initial donation of £500 to support the charity's setup and administration. Whilst this has been a formative year focused on establishing the charity's foundations, an important milestone was achieved in January 2026 when Feeling Social Community was awarded a £24,000 grant through the Investec Beyond Business programme. This funding represents a significant step forward for the charity and will support organisational development, governance, capacity building, and the strengthening of operational systems. The charity experienced some unavoidable delays in organisational development during the year due to unforeseen personal circumstances affecting the founder, which temporarily reduced operational capacity. Despite these challenges, we remain fully committed to the charity's long-term vision and have continued to lay the foundations for future growth. Looking ahead, we are optimistic about the future of Feeling Social Community. The Investec Beyond Business grant provides a real opportunity to invest in the charity's infrastructure, strengthen governance, and move closer to delivering the kind of impact the charity was set up to achieve. We remain committed to building an organisation that genuinely serves the communities it was created for. Page 2 **Feeling Social Community** **Report of the Trustees for the Period 20 March 2024 to 31 July 2025** The Trustees present their report and the audited financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31 July 2025. The trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) "Accounting and Reporting by Charities" in preparing the annual report and financial statements of the charity. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in notes to the accounts and comply with the charity's governing document, the Charities Act 2011 and Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland published in October 2019. ## **INCORPORATION** The charitable company was incorporated on 20 March 2024. ## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES** ## **Our Vision** A world where everyone, regardless of background, age or circumstance, has the knowledge, skills and confidence to support their own mental health and that of the people around them ## **Our Mission** To make Mental Health First Aid training and digital resilience education accessible to all, with a particular focus on young people, youth practitioners and those working in or alongside vulnerable communities across London and the UK. ## **Aims and activities** Feeling Social Community acts as the non-profit arm of Feeling Social, providing accessible, digital-first Mental Health First Aid training and inclusive community wellbeing spaces. The charity delivers accredited MHFA England courses alongside bespoke programmes addressing specific societal challenges and partners with other charitable bodies to extend its reach. A central element of the charity's model is its 'Buy One Give One' approach: for every full workplace MHFA course booked through Feeling Social, the charity donates a free Youth MHFA England course to a charity or non-profit of the customer's choice. This model is designed to channel commercial activity directly into charitable impact for young people and the organisations that support them. The charity also recognises that digital resilience is integral to mental health, particularly for younger generations. Programmes addressing young people's relationship with social media and the digital environment form a core part of its developing activity portfolio. ## **Public benefit** We confirm that we have had due regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit. The charity's activities directly address well-evidenced social need: 75% of mental health issues are established by age 18, 85% of young adults with diagnosable mental health conditions are not accessing local support, and 48% of all young people report experiencing a mental health problem. By making accredited mental health training accessible to youth practitioners and non-profit organisations, Feeling Social Community directly supports those working on the front line with vulnerable young people. . Page 3 **Feeling Social Community** **Report of the Trustees for the Period 20 March 2024 to 31 July 2025** ## **ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE** ## **Overview** As a newly registered charity, the period from 20 March 2024 to 31 July 2025 has been a formative year focused on establishing the charity's governance foundations. Whilst operational delivery has been limited during this establishment phase, the work done to build the charity's foundations will enable real impact in future years. ## **Key milestones** The charity was formally registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 20 March 2024, completing the process of establishing Feeling Social Community as a legally constituted and accountable organisation. Feeling Social Group Ltd provided an initial donation of £500 to support the charity's setup and administration costs during the establishment phase, enabling the charity to begin operating. Work has been done to develop the charity's governance infrastructure, financial management systems, and operational policies during the period, all of which are needed before programmatic activity can begin in earnest. ## **Challenges** The charity experienced some unavoidable delays in organisational development due to unforeseen personal circumstances affecting the founder, which temporarily reduced operational capacity. We remain fully committed to the charity's long-term vision and have continued to develop its foundations throughout. ## **FINANCIAL REVIEW** ## **Financial overview** During the reporting period, the charity received income of £500 in the form of a donation from Feeling Social Group Ltd. We are satisfied that all funds have been applied in accordance with the charity's objects. ## **Subsequent event: Investec Beyond Business grant** Subsequent to the end of the reporting period, in January 2026, Feeling Social Community was awarded a grant of £24,000 through the Investec Beyond Business programme. This funding will support organisational development, governance, capacity building, and the strengthening of operational and compliance systems. We regard this as a significant step forward for the charity. ## **Reserves policy** As a newly established charity, we have not yet adopted a formal reserves policy. This will be developed and approved during the forthcoming year, supported by the Investec Beyond Business grant. ## **Going concern** We are satisfied that the charity remains a going concern. The £24,000 Investec Beyond Business grant awarded subsequent to the period end provides a sound financial basis for the forthcoming year. ## **FUTURE PLANS** We are optimistic about the year ahead. The Investec Beyond Business grant gives us a real opportunity to invest in the charity's infrastructure, strengthen governance, and start delivering activities that directly serve our charitable objectives. During the forthcoming year, our priorities are to recruit additional trustees to strengthen and diversify the Board; develop and adopt formal financial and governance policies; design and pilot charitable programmes including digital MHFA training and community wellbeing initiatives for young people; formalise partnerships with youth-focused organisations; and build the operational systems needed to support grant reporting and future fundraising. We are clear-eyed about the work still to do and remain committed to building an organisation that genuinely serves the communities it was set up for. Page 4 **Feeling Social Community** **Report of the Trustees for the Period 20 March 2024 to 31 July 2025** ## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT** ## **Governing document** Feeling Social Community is a CIO governed by its Constitution (dated 23 March 2023, registered with the Charity Commission on 20 March 2024). The charitable objects are: To provide mental health support, for the public benefit, for individuals, specifically but not limited to young people and those working with a focus on but not limited to those living in vulnerable communities or in minority groups, by providing and educating on practical resilience building, coping mechanisms and skills. In particular, but not exclusively, through the delivery of licensed MHFA (Mental Health First Aid) courses, bespoke courses for a certain/societal challenge and partnerships with other charitable bodies delivering similar/aligned relief/support. In addition to creating communities to enhance peer-to-peer support. ## **Trustees and governance** The first trustees, appointed on registration, were: Ben Anderson, Rosanna Lawn, Amir Izadkhah, Nicole Benton, Krishna Ellsworth, Charlie Smith, and Sara Jane Davis. Trustees are appointed for two-year terms in accordance with the Constitution. Day-to-day management is led by Ben Anderson as Founder Trustee. There are no paid employees during this reporting period. Krishna Ellsworth will be stepping down from the Board after the reporting period due to capacity constraints. We would like to thank Krishna for their contribution during the charity's early stages. We intend to recruit additional trustees with diverse skills and experience during the forthcoming year. ## **Risk management** The key risk during this period was reduced operational capacity arising from unforeseen personal circumstances affecting the founder. This is being addressed through planned trustee recruitment and the use of the Investec Beyond Business grant to build organisational resilience. B Anderson - Trustee Page 5 **Feeling Social Community** **Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities for the Period 20 March 2024 to 31 July 2025** ## **Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities** The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice). The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are required to: select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP; make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation. The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the charity's Constitution. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. 500| The charitable company is entitled to exemption from audit under Section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 for the period ended 31 July 2025. The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its financial statements for the period ended 31 July 2025 in accordance with Section 476 of the Companies Act 2006. The trustees acknowledge their responsibilities for - (a) ensuring that the charitable company keeps accounting records that comply with Sections 386 and 387 of the Companies Act 2006 and - (b) preparing financial statements which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company as at the end of each financial year and of its surplus or deficit for each financial year in accordance with the requirements of Sections 394 and 395 and which otherwise comply with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 relating to financial statements, so far as applicable to the charitable company. ACCOUNTING POLICIES** ## **Basis of preparing the financial statements** The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) - Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019), the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011. The financial statements have been prepared to give a 'true and fair view and have departed from the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only to the extent required to provide a true and fair view. This departure has involved following the Charities SORP (FRS 102) published in October 2019 rather than the Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice effective from 1 April 2005 which has since been withdrawn. Feeling Social Community meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant accounting policy. ## **Income** All incoming resources are included on the Statement of Financial Activities when the charity is legally entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy. ## **Taxation** The charity is exempt from corporation tax on its charitable activities. ## **Fund accounting** Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees. Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes. Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the financial statements. ## **2.
