The generosity and commitment of Our Lady and St. Joseph (the **School** or **OLSJ** ) community have enabled the Association to deliver meaningful support to pupils and progress key projects such as the long-time waited outdoor classroom. enrichment opportunities to improve the School and to benefit

**achievements**|The Association delivered a strong programme of events and
activities throughout the year, including a number of well-
established community favourites. These included:
• the always fun_Quiz Night_: hosted at the De Beauvoir
Block, the event was well attended and helped solidify
our growing presence within the wider community;
• a series of festive_Christmas_activities such as the
School Fair, Christmas tree sales, and the sale of
personalised cards, tea towels and tote bags designed
by the children;
• the_De Beauvoir Trail_held in the front gardens of our
lovely neighbourhood;
• our much-loved_Movie at the Rio_event at our treasured
local independent cinema, was once again a
resounding success. These gatherings continue to
strengthen our relationship with the wider community
and reflect our commitment to creating inclusive and
enriching experiences beyond the school gates;
• the second-hand uniform and clothes stall at the_Party_
_in the Park_organised by the De Beauvoir Residents
Association (DBA);
• the traditional_Summer Fair_, held at the school with the
support of school staff, which brought the School's rich
cultural tapestry to life through music, dancing, and
food—a joyful celebration of diversity that united
families across our community; and
• the second edition of the “_Run Kids Run_” sponsored run
in Highbury Fields, in which high levels of participation
helped secure additional sponsor contributions,
alongside donations and Gift Aid from the last two
years, to complete the funding for the outdoor
classroom project, which was completed during the
Summer recess.
In addition, the Association introduced several new initiatives,
contributing to both increased fundraising and greater family
engagement in school life. These included:
• our first_Jumble Sale:_a new special event held in the
School car park to kick off the year;
• the “_Come Dine with Me_” experience: delivered with
the support of the school kitchen,whichgaveparents| 5 ## **OLSJ Parents’ Association** _Shine with Love, Kindness and Respect_ ||and carers the opportunity to join their children for
lunch at school and received excellent feedback from
families;
• a fun, exciting and well-attended family_Bingo Night_,
filled
with
buzzing,
friendly
competition,
and
community spirit. It proved to be a joyful gathering for
parents, carers, and staff alike—further strengthening
the bonds that make our school community so special;
• the inaugural_World Book Day Disco_: the event was a
vibrant celebration of imagination, and community
spirit, reinforcing our school's enduring connection
with the church;
• an_Easter egg hunt_to welcome children back after the
Easter break; and
• regular_Friday afternoon tuck shops_, offering ice lollies
and cold drinks, and even doughnuts, were an instant
hit with the children, especially during the warmer
weather.
A big achievement this year was the_new partnership_
_established with the local branch of Stirling Ackroyd_, which
generously supported both the Christmas and Summer Fairs,
through funding for estate board signage displayed across the
school community. Another accomplishment was the
addition of other revenue streams such as income from the
_EasyFundraising scheme, contributions from Asda Cashpot_
_and a corporate match donation_. These funding streams—
while modest—reflect growing interest in our initiatives and
provide valuable support for our goals.| |---|---| |**Impact on**
**beneficiaries**|Our fundraising events and activities, which are described in
more detail above, have been very successful for being fun for
the children and the whole family and helping break barriers
and foster community with high attendance and engagement.
In terms of school funding, we are proud of having supported
the school with most of their funding requests through the
purchase of goods and equipment and the improvement of
school facilities, as well as creating a positive and enriching
environment for the school’s pupils through the provision of a
diverse array of enrichment activities. A summary of these is
below:
• _workshops_: the Association funded exciting workshops
to all school children,includingnarrow boats trips in| 6 ## **OLSJ Parents’ Association** _Shine with Love, Kindness and Respect_ the local Regents Canal for the younger classes, and climbing and kayaking workshops for years 5 and 6 delivered by Laburnum Boat Club, and a whole school pottery workshop that sparked creativity of pupils by creating their self-portraits in clay; • _extracurricular activities_ : we supported the school in sourcing and covering part of the cost of very popular lunchtime chess clubs, and funded the purchase of new board games for extended care clubs; • _Year 6 leavers’ contributions_ : we continue the tradition of funding their hoodies, yearbooks, and contributions towards their end of year play and residential trip; • _books, stationery and school facilities_ : we supported the school with the funding of new stationery and D&T equipment, new books for the libraries, subscriptions to educational magazines, and we purchased welcome books for all new reception children. The largest item of funding during the year related to the construction of the outdoor classroom. The project was completed in the Summer 2025 using funds raised through the two “Run Kids Run” events held at the end of the academic years 2024 and 2025, which included donations, Gift Aid, and sponsor contributions. As reflected in the financial statements for the year ended 31 August 2025, £3,148 of income associated with this activity (donations) was recognised as of 31 August 2025, with the remaining funds, including from the RunKidsRun sponsors, received after the year end and recorded in the following financial period. An amount of £12,096, representing the total income committed towards the project at year end, was recorded as committed school funding not yet paid at the balance sheet date. Fundraising target for the period was set at £12,000 at the beginning of the year. This level has been set to ensure the charity can meet its planned
