OrganisaFonal structure

The charity trustees are responsible for the general control and management of the charity. The trustees give =me freely and receive no numera=on or other financial benefits.

  1. Every charity trustee must be a natural person.

  2. No individual may be appointed as a charity trustee of the CIO if he or she is under the age of 16 years

  3. No one is entitled to act as a charity trustee whether on appointment or on any reappointment until he or she has expressly acknowledged, in whatever way the charity trustees decide, his or her acceptance of the office of charity trustee.

  4. At least one of the trustees of the CIO must be 18 years of age or over. If there is no trustee aged at least 18 years, the remaining trustees may only act to call a meeting of the charity trustees, or appoint a new charity trustee.

ObjecFves:

A. The preven=on or relief of poverty anywhere in the world by providing or assis=ng in the provision of educa=on, training, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient.

B. To advance the religion of Islam, by means of, but not exclusively, promo=ng the teachings and tenets of Islam through educa=onal ini=a=ves, including the provision of educa=on, training, and resources in accordance with the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be Upon Him).

Grant making

Activities and achievements

UMMAH CHARITY TRUST is a new charity. The trustees have agreed to help orphans and poor children in Bangladesh. The charity will be supporting an educational organisation in Bangladesh that helps orphans and poor children. The trustees have also agreed to help poor people in Bangladesh from time to time.

Funding source

The charity’s main funding source is through donation and zakat money. One of the trustees is conducting drivers’ medical examination and donating that income to the charity.

Plans for next financial year

The charity will be involved in helping with the education cost of poor and orphans of Dhaishar Hifzul Quran Madrasa which is located in the district of Moulvibazar in Bangladesh. The Charity also plan to donate food boxes to poor and homeless people from time to time.

Statement of trustees’ responsibilities

The trustees are responsible for preparing an annual report and financial statements in accordance applicable law. The law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the charity trustees to prepare financial statements for each year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that period.

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 1993, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
