Trustees’ Annual Report and accounts Netherseal Baptist Church – 2024-2025 Registered Charity Number 1207244

The Church had an income of £ in the year and has been examined independently by Hall Farm accounts and a certificate issued.

As the charity is below the audit threshold it has prepared a simple annual report.

General

The Church continues with its long-established practices of Sunday Church services & Bible studies and all are welcome to attend our weekly services for worship and prayer; learning about the Gospel; and developing their knowledge and trust in Jesus.

We also operate the following regular activities, which are open to all in the appropriate age ranges, Explorers (for children, Primary school age), Tots (for children from Birth to Primary school age with parents, grandparents and carers etc.), Coffee Break (Open to all, but primarily attended by older members of the community), Outreach events (Open to all) these have included: Cheese tasting evening, Easter egg hunt, Pudding evening, Felting evening, Harvest supper, Floristry evening, and a Christmas Crafts afternoon, amongst other things. The Outreach events are usually attended by approximately thirty people, Coffee break – Approx. 20 people, and the children’s clubs vary in attendance.

All the activities are free.

To facilitate this work, it is important that we maintain the fabric of the Netherseal Baptist Church building, and we have a number of items that are currently under consideration.

The render that was applied to the rear wall of the Church building many years ago is deteriorating and needs replacing.

Due to changes in electricity tariffs making the current storage heaters unsuitable due to the increased running costs, we are now considering alternative heating systems to ensure the building is suitably heated for the various activities.

2

Mission and Evangelism

We support a number of ‘missionary’ organisations that operate across the world these include: Platform 67, Asia Link, Africa Inland Mission, Slavic Gospel Association, Blytheswood, and Open Doors.

These and others are supported annually by our tithes.

The regular Outreach events provide an opportunity to either give a message, testimony or literature to the attendees.

We ran a Hope Explored course early in the year and had a number of ‘non-church goers’ attend.

We met with Thurlaston Chapel for a number of joint services at each other’s Churches, and also a combined service at Barton in the Beans with a number of other Churches also represented.

Trustees, Members and Volunteers

We would like to thank all the Trustees, Members and Volunteers who work so hard to make our church the lively and vibrant community it is.

We currently have a membership of 9

Current Trustees:

Mr Terry Nicklin (Deacon, Secretary & Treasurer) Mr Stuart Richard Ward Mrs Janet Elaine Pickering Mrs Kathleen Wareing

Structure, governance and management

The method of appointment of Trustees, Church officers and members is set out in the Church Constitution and Church Rules

The Trustees and members met six times during the year, this included the AGM, but also had two additional extraordinary meetings which were required in regard to changing status from a CUA to CIO.
