Friends of Boston Music Centre Financial Report- Year Ending March 2025
This has been a successful first year for the charity.
We started with a donation of £8768 from a previous group who had supported the music centre in Boston.
As a group we support Boston Music Centre (Part of Lincolnshire County Council) to help with fundraising and providing free music education to the young people in a very deprived area.
Our main role as ‘The Friends’ is to raise money buy selling tickets to three annual events and then hosting the evenings with a raffle and tuck shop.
The purpose of our fundraising is to allow the tuition to continue for the students for more weeks across the year than the council can pay for.
As we move forward the charity will be making donations to Lincolnshire Music Service (LMS) (as part of LCC) to allow the staff to be paid for their time.
Our Chairman Lee Hextall is the only trustee who works for and he declares his conflict of interest at each meeting the charity has.
On average we take about £1800 and spend £250 per event.
We donated £642.50 to the Salvation Army as we were hosted at their venue for our Christmas concert. The two groups have long standing ties and work together year round. We usually don’t have to make contributions to the venue where we rehearse and perform because of the contact with LMS.
