LITTLE ROBINS PRE-SCHOOL CIO
ANNUAL REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE PERIOD FROM 27 FEBRUARY 2024 TO 30 JUNE 2025
_______________
Objectives of the Charity
The CIO was formed when the previous charity, Little Robins Pre-School (Charity No. 1034704) was converted to the CIO on 27 February 2024 and the CIO Constitution adopted. The CIO started to operate on 25 February 2025 when the Ofsted registration was transferred from the old charity to the new CIO. The CIO was set up to provide playgroup facilities for under 5s.
Little Robins Pre-School CIO is a registered charity (No. 1207226).
Activities and Achievements this Year
During the period the main source of income continued to be from playgroup fees and early years grants. Some fundraising activities were held as detailed in the Receipts and Payments account.
Financial Position and Reserves
The accounts show the financial position and reserves as at 30 June 2025.
Net receipts for the period were £62,824 leaving a bank balance of £62,794 and a cash balance of £30 as at 30 June 2025.
The trustees consider that the reserves are adequate to continue the charity's current level of activity during the next period, but will continue to review the situation.
Risk Management
The trustees have undertaken a review of the major risks to which the charity is exposed, and systems to mitigate those risks have been considered and are adequate.
Trustees
The trustees for the year were:
| Mrs Michelle Napier (Chairperson) | (appointed 27.2.2024) |
|---|---|
| Mr Steven Chadwick (Secretary) | (appointed 27.2.2024) |
| Mr Ernest Napier (Treasurer) | (appointed 27.2.2024) |
| Patricia Rennick (Trustee) | (appointed 27.2.2024) |
| Julie Appleyard (Trustee) | (appointed 27.2.2024) |
| Trustees are nominated and seconded by committee members and parents at the AGM. |
DBS checks are carried out on all committee members to ensure they are eligible to act on behalf of the charity. They also attend courses which are selected from the training directory provided to all pre-schools. Two of the trustees are also employed by the CIO to work in the pre-school, per the constitution of the CIO they do not have any voting rights in respect of salaries.
Volunteers
Playgroups have to have a certain number of responsible adults per child. Volunteers cannot be counted when calculating this ratio. Therefore although volunteers occasionally help out, they are not relied upon to meet the objectives of the charity.
Future Plans
Our future plans are to continue to provide pre-school facilities for under 5s.
For and on behalf of the Management Committee
