**ANNUAL REPORT FOR FINANCIAL PERIOD 27 FEBRUARY, 2024 TO 5 APRIL, 2025**

**Trustee recruitment:** The charity is not currently looking for additional trustees, pending decisions on the main project the charity is supporting. 

**1.** Prior to the Friends becoming a charity on 27 February, 2024 a total of £54,859 was held following earlier fund raising. 

**2.** The prime objective of the charity is to help fund the re-opening of Ruskin’s View and The Brow footpath. Prior to becoming a charity, the Friends had already passed funds to Kirkby Lonsdale Town Council, which is the body responsible for carrying out works associated with the reopening. 

**3.** From 27 February, 2024 to 5 April, 2025 the Friends raised a further £47,985. This came from a wide variety of sources including: 

   - direct debits; 

   - donations from individuals, including one of £1,000; 

   - money raised by local firms and organisations including Booth’s, the Red Dragon and the Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery; and 

   - a sale of pictures and a concert. 

**4.** The largest single grant of £30,000 came from the Yorkshire Dales Millenium Trust. 

**5.** In the same period, apart from minor expenditure on administration, the Friends transferred £18,341 to the Town Council to carry out remedial works. Total expenditure was £22,375. 

**6.** In August 2024 the first part of The Brow footpath was reopened allowing public access to ‘Ruskin’s View’. Funds held by the Friends at 5 April, 2025, and funds raised since, will be used to help secure the reopening of the full length of The Brow footpath and secure its future.
