Section D Achievements and performance The Community Cupboard's (Food bank) shelves were filled with weekly Fareshare deliveries and local donatson5. Three local schools collected food for the Community Cupboard at Harvest and Christmas providing essential supplies to last through the year whilst also providing an opportunity lo educate and raise awareness of Food Povety. The Community Cupb02rd mel 189 requests for food over the year from households experiencing food poverty, these came from self ￿ferra1 and also health and social care professionals. Our local schools identified families who would benefit from food bags during school hoSidays and we provlded a further 147 bags to meet this need. This is done with complete anonymity but provides the recipient with details of The Community Cupboard's purpose and accessibility- Food Club njns weekly and shares out the items received from Fareshare that cannot be used in Community Cupboards Food prep or placed on the shelves of the Cupboard. An average of 26 households come along Io CA)Ilecl a share of this food which would otherwise be heading for landfill. Food Club members report an easing on weekly food budget spend. an enjoyment of trying foods they would never have picked for themselves and a feeling of gratilude thal they are doing a small bit for the environment. Summary of the main aGhi8vement$ of the charity during the year 2979 hot and nutritious meals were cooked from scratch, using, where possible, food delivered by Fareshare. 1215 hot meals were delivered to eldedy residents unable or reluctant to leave their homes and 1764 were served to those able to access our local community hall. These lunches are provided weekly on 52 weeks of the year and provide valuable company for those attending both as recipients and volunteers, especially over festive tirnes when being alone feels even more acute. It is also worth mentioning that those receiving the meals report looking forward lo seeing a familiar face every Monday, for some Iheir only outside contact. Repair café. held monthly, has an average of 16 people attending for repairs and more simply coming along to enjoy a hot drink and company. Repaired items have been saved from landfill and ￿tUMed lo use in residents homes. Soup Lunches have served 492 bowls of hot nulritious soup, made from weekly Fareshare deliveries of vegetables. Nutritious and also another opportunity to sit down and enjoy a communal meal. Our annual call record total for the Hub telephone r8a¢hed 100 calls, a vital Ilne for housebound residents. This is not usually a busy s8Nice but valued nonetheless by those who use it and relatives who live at 8 distance. 14 people have re¢elved Mental Health First Aid Training in the past elv8 months. 59 people have attended the Forget Mé knot café over Ihe year, a genlle environment providing a chance to meet others going through similar experiences with dementia and memory loss. Activities have included bread making, pottery, art, puzzles, games 2nd visits from health professiona15 to share advise. Kids Cinema was enjoyed by 168 children during school holidays through thg year. They wara accompanied by parents or grandparents who reciated the rovision of a local activi that was rovided on s TAR March 2012

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Kirkby Lonsdale Community Cupboard CIO (the Trust) for the period from 26th February 2024 to 28th February 2025.

Responsibilities and basis of report

As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

Independent examiner’s statement

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or

2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or

3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
