## **Structure, governance and management** 

The Charity is constituted as a trust and is governed by its trust deed. New trustees are selected by appointment. 

The Board of Trustees, comprising volunteers committed to our mission, oversees the Charity's operations and strategic decisions. Our governance ensures transparency, accountability, and a commitment to community welfare. 

## **Objectives, activities achievements and performance** 

The Charity aims to foster community participation in healthy recreation for the residents of Oldham and surrounding areas. Our objectives include providing facilities for Rugby, Football, and other sports, as well as offering recreational and leisure activities. We prioritise serving youth, elderly, disabled, financially challenged individuals, and the public at large to enhance social welfare and improve quality of life.

## **Objectives, activities achievements and performance (Continued)** 

Since becoming a Charity on 26th February 2024, we have achieved significant milestones: 

## 1. **Facilities and Programs Implemented:** 

- Provided facilities for "The Place to Bee," who provide a safe space with disabled access for adults with learning difficulties operating three days a week. 

- Conducted FREE yoga sessions for adults weekly and FREE tea/coffee/cake sessions for seniors. 

- Introduced reduced priced meals for seniors on a weekly basis. 

- Provided facilities for Athletico Manchester, a junior football club catering to children aged 4-13. 

- Implemented drainage improvements on the football pitch with plans for further enhancements. 

## 2. **Infrastructure Development:** 

- Secured a 30-year lease on a 9.4-acre sports field, establishing a comprehensive sports environment. 

- Successfully renovated an ex-NHS pre-fab building into a fully functional community and sports club, featuring offices, kitchen, communal areas, sports facilities, and disabled-friendly amenities.

## 3. **Community Engagement and Support:** 

- Engaged local organizations and received support in the form of services, materials, and labour. 

- Secured grants and donations from local housing associations and individuals, enabling the purchase of necessary equipment and supplies. 

## 4. **Financial Sustainability:** 

- Generated income through leasing parts of our premises to a building contractor and a local care group, as well as renting out the sports ground to Athletico Manchester. 

- Expanded the Board of Trustees to include additional members, enhancing governance and expertise. 

## **Volunteers** 

We are very grateful for the dedication of our volunteers both past and present who have contributed to maintenance, coaching, kitchen operations, and fundraising efforts. Their selfless contributions are instrumental in our success.

Looking ahead. our priorities include:
Securing funding for perimeter fencing to protect our sports grounds from
unauthorized access.
Applying for grants to complete drainage improvements on our secondary pitch.

Concluslon
The past fwe years have been transfonnative for our Charity, from rebuI￿J1n9 infrastructure to
fostering communty engagement through sports and recreational activities. We remain
committed to providing a premier communty and sports club for Oldham, driven by our
dedication to enhancing lives and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Financial revlew
To ensure financial stabllity. we maintain a cash reserve covering six months of operational
costs. Income from rentals and grants are allocated to essential needs such as sports
equipment and facility maintenance.
At th8 period end all cash rosèrves remain in a surplus POSEtion.
