## **Governing document** 

Prurigo Nodularis International is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by its constitution, registered on **20 February 2024** . 

## **Trustee appointment and induction** 

Trustees are appointed in accordance with the CIO constitution. All new Trustees wil receive induction covering the charity’s objectives, governance responsibilities, financial oversight, safeguarding, and trustee duties. 

## **Management and staffing** 

The charity is **entirely volunteer-led** with no paid staff. All trustees and volunteers provide their time freely, bringing lived experience, advocacy, medical, community support, and organisational skills to the charity’s work.

## **Charity objectives** 

The principal objects of the charity are to: 



- Advance education and awareness of **Prurigo Nodularis** among patients, the public, healthcare professionals, and organisations. 

- Promote and protect the physical and mental health of people affected by Prurigo Nodularis by providing support, reliable information, community, and practical advice. 

- Encourage development of diagnostic standards, care pathways, and treatments for Prurigo Nodularis. 

## **Public benefit** 

The trustees confirm that, in planning and delivering activities, they have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. All activity aims to improve understanding, reduce isolation, and support individuals and families affected by Prurigo Nodularis. 

## **Activities and achievements during the year** 

During 2024 - 2025, the charity: 

- Raised **worldwide awareness** of Prurigo Nodularis — including the lived burden of the condition through online platforms, community engagement, and informational resources. 

- Continued support for the patient community via an **international private Facebook group** and other peer-supported channels. 

- Participated in regulatory advocacy, including involvement in Health Technology Assessments and related discussions with NICE regarding access to therapeutics for PN patients in the UK. 

- Shared specialist information and links to clinicians experienced in managing PN for affected patients. 

- Contributed patient perspectives to submissions on treatment guidelines and access, highlighting the condition’s life-changing impact on quality of life. 

These activities were provided **free of charge** to benefit people living with Prurigo Nodularis globally. 

## **Volunteers** 

The charity operates through the dedication of volunteers. During the year, approximately **three** volunteers contributed to running the charity, overseeing outreach, communications, support, advocacy, education, and governance. The trustees express their appreciation to every volunteer for their invaluable efforts. 

## **Financial Review** 

## **Review of the year** 

There was no income raised or expenditure. Basic administrative expenses for the year were met by the founder. 



## **Plans for Future Periods** 

Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, the trustees plan to: 

- Expand outreach to global patient communities and increase awareness campaigns. 

- Develop more **educational materials** and resources about Prurigo Nodularis for patients and clinicians. 

- Strengthen engagement with partners to improve diagnostic understanding and treatment pathways. 

- Continue advocacy efforts related to treatment access and care guidelines. 

## **Risk Management** 

Key risks identified include: 

- **Dependence on volunteers** for all operations, which may limit capacity. 

- **Funding uncertainty** impacting outreach and educational projects. 

- The **challenge of international reach** given the global nature of the condition. 

These risks will be mitigated through diversified fundraising efforts, shared responsibilities among trustees, and careful planning of activities.
