Objects: 3.1 The Objects Of The CIO Are For The Public Benefit, To Promote, Maintain And Enhance Amongst The Public, Students And Recent Graduates In The United Kingdom, A Knowledge And Understanding Of Legal Studies, Skills And Expertise (The "Legal Education") In Such Ways As The Trustees In Their Absolute Discretion Think Fit, In Particular But Not Exclusively By: (I) Offering Help And Guidance To Individuals In Respect Of Their Legal Education And/or Preparation For Entry Into Any Legal Based Occupation, Trade Or Profession; (Ii) Facilitating Collaboration And Co-Operation Between Students And Academic Institutions And/or Corporate Bodies In Furtherance Of Legal Education; And(iii) Organising Academic Activities, Competitions, Seminars And Conferences Which Are Accessible To The Public; Together Being The "Objects".3.2 In Furtherance Of The Objects But Not Otherwise, The Trustees Shall Have The Power To Engage In Any Non-Political And Not-For-Profit Activity (The "Activities") Provided That The Trustees Are Satisfied That The Proposed Activities Will Further The Objects Of The CIO And That The Resources To Be Committed To Any Proposed Activity Are Proportionate To The Activity's Expected Benefits.
