## **Longwave Foundation Trustees’ Annual Report For the period ended 31.03.2025** 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

The Longwave Foundation is established for charitable purposes, with a focus on delivering public benefit through targeted grant-making and support to individuals and organisations aligned with its mission. The trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit in determining the charity’s objectives and activities. 

During the period under review, the charity’s principal focus was on organisational development and ensuring that appropriate foundations were in place to support future operations. 

## **Activities for the Period** 

No direct charitable activities or grant-making took place during the reporting period. This was due to the charity being in a preparatory phase, during which the trustees prioritised: 

- The establishment of appropriate banking arrangements 

- The development of governance and administrative processes 

- The identification and evaluation of suitable beneficiaries and partner organisations for future funding 

In parallel, the trustees undertook preliminary research and due diligence to ensure that future distributions will be made effectively, transparently, and in alignment with the charity’s objectives. 

## **Financial Review** 

For the period ended [insert date], the charity reported **nil income and nil expenditure** . No funds were received, and no grants or operational expenses were incurred during this time. 

The charity remains in a stable position, with no financial liabilities. Financial controls and procedures have been considered and will be implemented as activity commences. 

## **Plans for Future Periods** 

Since the period end, the charity has made significant progress in transitioning from its initial set-up phase into operational readiness. This includes: 

- Finalising banking arrangements 

- Advancing discussions with prospective donors 

- Refining the pipeline of potential beneficiaries

The trustees anticipate that the charity will begin active operations in the forthcoming period and expects to generate **material levels of income** , enabling it to commence its grant-making activities. The trustees remain committed to ensuring that all future funds are applied effectively in furtherance of the charity’s objectives and for the public benefit. 



## **Structure, Governance and Management** 

The charity is governed by its trust deed and is managed by its board of trustees. The trustees are responsible for the overall strategic direction of the charity and for ensuring that it operates in accordance with its governing document and applicable legal and regulatory requirements. During the period, the trustees have taken steps to ensure that appropriate governance frameworks are in place to support future operations.

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report and the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations. 

The trustees confirm that: 

- The accounts have been prepared on a going concern basis 

- Appropriate accounting records have been maintained 

- The accounts comply with the charity’s governing document
