Objectives and Activities
The object of CSL UK is to support the Zambian NGO, Conservation South Luangwa (“CSL”)
CSL UK works in partnership with CSL to protect the wildlife and habitats of the South Luangwa Ecosystem.
The aim is to promote for the benefit of the public the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment in South Luangwa through:

the conservation and protection of threatened natural habitats in South Luangwa;

the conservation and protection of endangered wildlife in South Luangwa; and
-
advancing the education of the public in matters relating to conservation of wildlife and natural habitats in South Luangwa
CSL UK acts as means for UK tax payers to contribute to the activities of CSL in Zambia in a tax efficient manner. All monies raised, after minor necessary expenses, are contributed as grants to CSL in accordance with the policies set out below. All activities on the ground in Zambia are conducted by CSL and all marketing and fund raising activity is carried out by CSL and its staff or representatives. Accordingly, the activities of CSL UK are confined to handling donations and making grants to CSL.
The trustees confirm that they have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit.
Achievements and Performance
In the period under review CSL UK received donations totalling some £17,000 and made grants to CSL of £10,000. These grants were applied by CSL to fund its day to day activities in support of the objectives set out above.
Financial Review
As at 31 March 2025 CSL UK had funds on hand of some £7,000. As the charity has no significant expenses and no creditors, these funds were fully available for making grants to CSL.
CSL UK holds no reserves and in the light of its highly cost efficient structure does not need reserves.
Structure, Governance and Management
CSL was registered by the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 6 February 2024 as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
The trustees of CSL UK are the first trustees appointed under the constitution and have acted throughout the period under review. They are as follows:

Further or replacement trustees must be appointed by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees. In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.
