## Activities

**Objects:** THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO RELIEVE THE NEED OF THE DEAF/DEAF COMMUNITY, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY PROVIDING COUNSELLING TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN TURNED DOWN BY THE NHS FOR FUNDING, NOT ABLE TO AFFORD PRIVATE THERAPY SESSIONS OR HAVE BEEN ON A WAITING LIST FOR A LONG LENGTH OF TIME. ALSO, BY SUPPORTING THE NEEDS OF DEAF/DEAF STUDENTS BY PROVIDING COUNSELLING WORK PLACEMENTS FOR THEM.NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].

**Activities:** A charity for the Deaf community offering free/low cost counselling/therapy (depending on financial situation - means tested).  Also, to support any Deaf students starting their level 4 in counselling, offering placements, counselling and supervision (requirements for level 4), all in their own language (BSL) and giving the same financial equal access as to their hearing peers.
