Objectives and Activities
Redcliffe Nursery School Trust CIO aims to advance the education and development of the Children of Redcliffe Nursery School, a maintained nursery school in central Bristol, for the public benefit by the provision of play, education and care resources.
Redcliffe Nursery School Trust CIO is based at the school in Bristol and, since its beginning in 2024, has raised money to help pay for, amongst other things, the school's Forest School activities.
The trustees have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit when reviewing our aim and objectives and in planning our future activities. In particular, the trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives they have set.
Achievements and Performance
This is the first Trustee’s Annual Report for Redcliffe Nursery School Trust CIO since the charity was formed in 2024 and we have succeeded in raising money to support, among other things, the school’s Forest School activities.
Redcliffe Nursery School’s Forest School allows every child within the setting to regularly accesses the benefits of learning within nature. The positive results of learning in a natural environment are becoming increasingly researched and understood for their powerful impact upon life skills, encouraging physical confidence as well as connection with the wider world and people within it.
All our charitable activities focus on advancing the education and development of Redcliffe Nursery School’s children and are undertaken to further our charitable purposes for the public benefit. The charity continues to develop its fundraising strategy to support, among other things, the sustainable development of its Forest School and Food Programme activities and the trustees will set out details of further fundraising and financial support for these activities.

Financial Review
The charity had income of £4,800 and expenditure on charitable purposes of £2,950 in the period to 31 July 2025 and had net assets of £1,850 at the year end, comprising cash at bank.
The trustees believe that there is no uncertainty about the charity continuing as a going concern.
Structure, Governance and Management
Redcliffe Nursery School Trust CIO was registered as a charity on 2 February 2024 and its governing document is a Constitution approved by its founding trustees on 29 November 2023.
The charity is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) - Foundation
Apart from the first charity trustees, every appointed trustee must be appointed for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees. In selecting individuals for appointment as appointed charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO.
Ex officio Trustee: The Head Teacher of Redcliffe Nursery School for the time being shall automatically (“ex-officio”) be a charity trustee, for as long as he or she holds that office.
The management of the charity is currently undertaken jointly by the trustees, all of whom act in a voluntary capacity.
