**Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document**
For the benefit of the public to relieve the suffering of cats and kittens in need of care and attention and, in particular to provide and maintain rescue homes or other facilities for the reception, care and treatment of such animals, to educate the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among cats and, the neutering of cats following advice from veterinary surgeons.

We provide shelter, food and veterinary care for homeless, stray, abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens, finding safe and loving homes wherever possible. For cats unable to live as domestic pets, we secure supported placements on smallholdings, stables and farms as working cats. All cats and kittens receive appropriate veterinary treatment, including microchipping and vaccination. Adult cats are neutered; kittens under six months are not neutered. We also work to reduce overpopulation through humane trap, neuter and return (TNR) initiatives within the community.

We respond to reports from the public to trap and scan found cats and, when necessary, respectfully remove deceased cats. We support vulnerable individuals by providing financial assistance towards veterinary bills, food and litter, helping to prevent unnecessary surrender and keep cats in loving homes. We also assist victims of domestic violence by offering temporary accommodation or rehoming for their cats where required to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both owner and animal.
Promoting responsible cat ownership and high standards of care remains central to our work. We provide practical advice and ongoing support to adopters and supporters, including specialist guidance for those caring for shy, traumatised and ex-feral cats, to help ensure successful, longterm placements and improve feline welfare across our community.
Through community engagement, social media and fundraising events, we share information on neutering, healthcare, behaviour and responsible ownership. We attend fundraising events, run online raffles and appeals, and apply for grant funding to support our work. We are partnered with a national pet retailers foundation, helping to strengthen our resources and extend our impact within the community.

Section D Achievements and performance
## **Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**
During the year, the charity continued to deliver significant impact to improve feline welfare, reduce overpopulation, and support responsible ownership within the community. We successfully rehomed **232** cats into safe and permanent homes. In addition, we secured **40** supported placements for feral cats that were not suitable for domestic environments, ensuring their welfare needs were met in appropriate settings. We also reunited **8** lost cats with their families, preventing unnecessary relinquishment and distress.
Preventative work remained central to our activities. Through our Trap Neuter Release (TNR) programme, **420** cats were neutered, including **370** via subsidised vouchers and **40** fully funded by the charity.
We provided veterinary treatment to the value of **£51,103.30** , ensuring cats in our care received appropriate medical attention. We continued to work closely with local veterinary practices to deliver high standards of care. Supporting vulnerable individuals formed an important part of our work. We assisted **3** individuals experiencing domestic violence, providing temporary accommodation for one person’s cats and arranging safe rehoming where necessary. We also supported **5** owners to retain their cats by offering financial assistance with neutering, medical treatment, food, and litter, with two cases remaining ongoing at the year end. The charity also applied for **9** grant opportunities during the year and was successful in securing **4** awards.
We maintained two active Facebook platforms to support adoption, fundraising, and community engagement. We attended multiple fairs and in-store events, and ran raffles, appeals, and collections to raise essential funds. We were pleased to partner with a national pet retailer’s foundation to strengthen our resources and extend our reach. The charity also increased public awareness of feline welfare issues. We were nominated for the BBC Radio Stoke **“Make a Difference Award”** and gave three interviews on BBC Radio Stoke highlighting the plight of stray and feral cats in Stoke-on-Trent. In addition, we delivered a presentation at a local Freemasons’ dinner, discussing the vital role of rescue organisations, the importance of neutering and microchipping, and the growing problem of abandoned and stray cats in the UK.
We continued to work collaboratively with other local rescue organisations, both providing and receiving practical and financial support where appropriate. This partnership approach strengthens the local rescue network and ensures the best possible outcomes for cats in need.
Overall, the trustees are satisfied that the charity has made measurable progress during the year in advancing its charitable objectives and delivering clear public benefit within the community.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **05/02/2025** .
- **Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
