## **Chairman’s report on our first founding year of the Shropshire Army Cadet Force Trust.**
Shropshire has circa 500 Cadets at 22 Detachments across the County.
In the Autumn of 2023, a small group of likeminded people came together to see how they could support the Cadets.
It was decided to form a Trust as a Charitable CIO and registered with the Charity Commission.
The purpose of the Trust is to raise funds to Support the Cadets in Shropshire, to finance equipment not supplied by the MOD and ensure all Cadets equally have the best opportunity to engage in activities and flourish as Army Cadets.
The secondary purpose is to raise awareness about the Cadets and increase the number of adult volunteers.
I am delighted that the Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire has agreed to be our Patron.
We have a small number of registered Trustees supported by a Trust board that meet bi-monthly to plan and deliver the activities of the Trust.
The Trust formally launched in 2024 by holding a Cocktail Party at RAF Shawbury which was attended by our Patron and invited guests.
We have now also launched our supporter scheme and in the first few weeks have 3 x Corporate Patrons. 5 x Corporate Friends. 1 x individual Friend.
The Cadet Bligny Band and Bugles have been much in demand to perform at various functions during this period.
