The following was achieved during the financial year 1[st] Oct 2024 to 30[th] Sept 2025 in the tutoring charity - Lets Learn UK.
Administration
The processes for accounting and staff payments have been working satisfactorily, and no further changes are required.
The DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) system and process is also satisfactory
Marketing
Marketing material in the form of merchandise including: spring bound books, pull ups and pens was developed.
A consultant was employed to help the charity identify students and schools that may require tutoring for disadvantaged students.
An advertisement was placed in a local online magazine (Streetwise) outlining the services offered by Let’s Learn
Pupils
A local school, The Beacon School of Banstead agreed to use the services of Let’s Learn for face to face teaching in Maths and English
Two students with learning and school attendance difficulties were selected for online tutoring.
All students were all in year 10. The online students had school attendance issues and found the school environment sub optimal for their learning.
Tutors
Two tutors were selected for online tutoring for 4 hours each per month. A further two tutors were selected for face to face teaching at the school.
All appointments were DBS checked and the online tutors began teaching in March 2025 while the face to face teaching began in September 2025 for 4 hours per month.
Overall Comments
This year was a litmus test of the tutoring programme and gave an insight into how the two different approaches (online and face to face) may operate. Questions raised were:

How to improve school engagement

Whether the age group was the right age group to be tutored

How to accurately measure academic improvement

How to improve the methods of student recruitment
Answers to these questions will modify the direction the direction of the charity in the future.
