ACHIEVEMENTSAND PERFORMANCE
Charltable Actlvfties
As a continuation of the process to fully transition Camvale Tennis Club's (the Clubl
assets to a Community Incorporated Org8nisation the transferof the freehold land w8S
completed by HM Land Registry in July 2025.
The main off-court actlvity duringthe yearwas focussed upon a projectto replace the
old halogen floodlights with low energy LED lighting. Following a scoping and tendering
exercise with several contractors the Club embarked upon a fundraising campaign to
raise c£20.000. Duringa 6-month period the Club achieved this target with:
Grant Funding
Sport Eng￿nd
Aviva Community Fund
o Aviva Employee Giving
Midsomer Norton and Radstock Lions Club
o Paulton Parish Council
Donations via "CrowdFunder°
Sponsorship from local organisations
Club Fundraising initiatives, includinga raffle. quiz nights and open days.
The new floodlights were successfully installed in Octoberwrth the Chair of Bath & N E
Somerset Council officially performingthe switch-on in November 2025.
In addition, in March, an armyof Club volunteers gave the Clubhouse a refresh by
repaintingand undertakingwood rep8irsto the exterior and a general clearout and
clean of the interior.
Membership of the Club rose to 75 indp4iduaLs: 58 adults. 2 students.13 juniors and 2
social members. DBspitÈ losing some mombers dueto ill health. movingawAyfrom thÈ
area, etc. we did attract 17 new individuals plus 4 families. manytaking advantage of a
special 50¥0 discounted one year membership package.
The coaching arrangementwith the Bishop Sutton Tennis Club Coachingteam was fully
operational duringthe year, resulting in a steady increase in participation in coaching
programmes, particuiarlyon Friday momingsfor adults and Saturday morningsfor
juniors. However, attendance at the Tuesday sessions did not meet expectations. The
Club willcontinue to actively promote these coaching programmes and encourage
greater engagement to attract more participants from the local community. Plans forthe
coming year include outreach efforts to local schools.

Duringthe summertwo men s teams participated in the Avon Tennis league enabling 15
members to representthe Club in the 20 fixtures. In addition. an inter-clubfriendlywas
arranged involving both female and male members.
The annualclub championshipswere once again vrfell attended with the Finals Day
bringing manytogether to enjoy a very social occasion.
The Club continued to supportthe Paulton in the Pdrk communityevent in July by
providing opportunities for all to play on several mini-courts and have the frea use of
tennis rackets and balis.
In Octoberthe Club held a CharityDayfor Mind bringingtogether membersforan
enjoyable afternoon of social tenniswhiist enjoyingteas and cakes. This raised £100 for
the Bath Mind charity.
Finally. the Trustees would like to thank all the volunteers who have contributed to the
ongoing management and their commitment regardingthe delivery ofthe Club's
objectives.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Financial Position
C8mv8le Tennis Club's income fortheyear amounted to£26.464. This was an
exceptionalyear because ofthe LED Floodlighting projectwhich raised £20,123,
including Gift Aid. Accordingly. expenditureforthe yearwas atthe high level of £25.014
due to the installation of the new lighting. OveralL operational income exceeded
expenditure by £1.450.
As of 31 October 2025, total unrestricted funds amounted to £16,735 of which £14.364
W8s held with Cambridge & Counties Bank in a 95-day notice account. The remaining
funds. £2,371 were held with Natwest in instsnt access accounts.
Prlnclpal Fundlngsources
CamvaleTennis Club's principal source of fvnding is the receipt ot membership fees.
Reserves Policy
Reserves are held to ensurethe long-term sustainability ofthe Club, especially
regardingthe quality of the tennis courts and the floodlighting. The Trustees agree that
thetotal reliance on grantfundingtrom extemal organisations to improve the facilities is
not a prudent or sensible approach.
Consequently, the Club has taken theviewthatthe main courts would probably need
resurfacing in 2030. The new LEDfioodlights have a 10-yearwarranty but the need for

future maintenance and replacement parts necessitatesthe Club to have an adequate
level of financial cover. Ideally. the Club should. in the future, be 8nnually allocating at
least £3,600 into the reserves fund to cover these future costs.
