l am delighted to write the introduction to our first annual report. I would like to take this opportunity to
thank the Secretary Sharon Ridge for her tireless efforts and the treasurer for managing the purse strin8S.
I would also like to thank the general committee members who have also glven us support, guidance and
direction when nÈedÈd. A final thanks to the army of volunteers who turn up what every whetherto help
make ourvarious activities a success and always making new volunteers welcome.
On Inspection of our annual statement, you will See that donations for the year have been low. The reason
behind thi5 is that our focus wa5 to secure charity statu5 and get costings for our various project5. Durin8
the last 12 months. we have managed to secure our targets and gone beyond them.
Addltion activities have included ree5tablSshment of the flower beds In the Garden of Reflection. The
secretary and I worked along a team of volunteer Union representatives from Mlchelin tyres and Unitas
who also planted £1200.00 worth of sensory, bee friendly plants. We also had 3 se5slon5 weedln8 and
edging the hlstorlcal rockery. l am proud to report our monthly Iltter picks whlch have mana8ed to capture
the larger members of our community includin8 prlmary school childreni people wlth disablllties and
people with moblllty Issues.
We have a150 had the first picnic bench of its type In the city to be Installed that is accessible to wheel chalr
users and abled bodied. The cost of this was from a kind donation made by Unite the Unions Communlty
Branch made in 2022, Unfortunately, we dld incorporate an additional charge removin8 a bench from It old
site to a new area In the park as the City Council were not prepared to pay for it.
For 2025 the secretary and I have already started to process various applications for fundln8 includin&
Sports England, National Lottery, Postcode Lottery, Cadbury Trust & Heritage fund. We will report the
pro8ress of these applications at our quarterly Meetings throughout the year.
Thank you for your support.
