H.O.M.E GHANA NPO

NEWSLETTER VOL 5 UPDATES

Our ongoing projects in Ghana with H.O.M.E Ghana NPO reflect our deep commitment to empowering communities through education, skill development, and sustainable growth. We have been fortunate to collaborate with Relief Crew, an incredible nonprofit made up of passionate members of the yachting community who support organizations worldwide and create meaningful impact wherever they go. In October, their dedicated team of volunteers joined us in Ghana and worked tirelessly to build and improve our school, Nii Kwatei, helping us create a better learning environment for local children. We are also deeply grateful to our wonderful partner, Noble Light, whose generous support has been instrumental in the construction and success of our Skill Centre. Officially open for over a year and a half, the centre has already celebrated the graduation of more than 40 students from various vocational training programmes an achievement that continues to inspire us and strengthen our mission to empower communities through knowledge and opportunity.

OUR ORGANISATION

CURRENT PROJECTS

RELIEF CREW

The Relief Crew recently travelled to Ghana to launch our new school construction project. Sam (CEO) and Ritchie (camera lead) joined six volunteers in Ghana. Together, they demolished the old school building and reused the debris to repair the flooded road outside. Foundations were dug 3–4 feet deep, concrete poured, rods fixed, and the first blockwork completed, a fantastic start in just ten days! Volunteers threw themselves into every task and built great relationships with local residents and partners. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with everyone inspired by the teamwork, progress, and community spirit driving the project forward. We will welcome them back in January 2026 to continue on the project.

CURRENT PROJECTS

SKILL CENTRE UPDATES

We’re so proud to share the incredible progress from our vocational training programmes! So far, students from our catering, barbering and beading courses have successfully graduated, each receiving a starter kit to help them launch their own small businesses. Our catering graduates have been putting their skills to great use, spending their afternoons and evenings in the kitchen preparing delicious meals to sell during the day. In total, over 40 graduates have now completed their training, each one taking inspiring steps toward independence and a brighter future. Our mission is to empower every student with the skills, confidence, and responsibility they need to build sustainable livelihoods and thrive on their own.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible partnership and support of Noble Light, whose dedication has been instrumental in making this vision a reality for both us and the community. The skills centre continues to gain momentum, with many young people now showing great interest and excitement to join and learn new trades.

OUR TEAM

NEW MEMBER

We’re so delighted to welcome the newest member of the H.O.M.E team, Brit, our Communications and Sponsorship Lead! Brit has already proven to be an incredible asset, jumping straight in to support with everything from general admin and organisation to getting her hands dirty on the ground in Ghana. Her enthusiasm, dedication, and can-do spirit have made a real difference, and we’re so grateful to have her as part of the team. Welcome, Brit!

NEW BEGININGS

We’re super excited to share some amazing news about our Volunteer Coordinator, Football Coach and Class 7 Teacher, David! He’s been accepted for a football scholarship in the USA, an incredible achievement that makes us all so proud. While we’ll truly miss his energy, laughter, and dedication here in Ghana, we couldn’t be happier for him as he takes this next big step. We’re so grateful for all the help, hard work, and good times we’ve shared with David, and we’ll be cheering him on every step of the way!
