During 2025 we continued to ruTr an Alpha cou￿e. This was aimed at people from Dutside St Leonard's to help
them explorg th8 Chrisl8n faith, w8 saw a mrx of regular church attendeès corning as well as those from loc21
communities.
We have Continued to keep the tsaching of 8￿pture as a central part of our $ervice8. exploring th& them98 of
God'$ love. hope, laader5hip, worship, prayer and our sdanlty in Cth'sl. We ran a varEty cf different Sunday
teaching series wlth th￿e particular focuses. Foundattins ol Faith, the bodt of Epheslans and the Poctising the
Way Course by John Mark Crmer.
2025 byas a unique yearfor St Leonard's, as we navigated a redur*d slaff team due to kng-term illness and 80me
tearn transitions, with tEuuilm6nl taking long•r than aftticipaled. In th• midst of these ¢halkrtges. the remaining
team showed great resilience, and it became a 6lgnffi￿￿l opportunty to tElease and empower more volunker8
inte kthy roles across the church.
St Leonard's Churth attended HTB Focus in 2025_ This is our annual churd) vtsekend away MAth around 10.OCKJ
othersfrom the'HTB Nefv40rk', over80 p8oplefrom St Leonard's aitended. Therewasa lol of laugh18r, community
building, worship and teaching. SO￿ from St Leonard's ¢amped onsits as well as others staying lo¢ally and
travelling in each day. Focus is a great way tc bring all age5 of the congreg&tion logeth8r, sharing mèaltlrn8S and
building upon Christian fellow8hip.
In 2025, we he￿ 2 baptisms and 1 wedding and we hekj 158rvic8 for the int*rmenl of sshos in our churchyatd.
In 2025, our hjme groups continued across the parfsh and beyond. These seek to ¢onn$ct peopk new to the
church into community bul also grow the church community doserto Jesus, and are key pla￿S wheredisapleship
@nd spirilual growth happens. About 46% of our cDngre9atDn are in a home 9roup. We have a Wk1È variety of

The festive season started wrth a Christmas market, whith $aw toul vgndors hosting slalls a5 WPII a5 m8rnbBr5
91 our gwn ¢ongr8galion. Morg than 800 people from the community wpre wel¢omed into the church during a 4
hour period. Profits went tQW8rd$ a Christmas Meal in partnership with Off th8 Fence, a local charity who works
with the vulnerabk in Bri9hton and Hovg.
We partn¢r*J with the Foghorn pub to provtd8 ￿ng-along carols for the cornrnunity. We Sel up outside the pub
and Wtt￿ thnlled so many pa5SeT5by joined in. We also held a 'Coffee and Carols, event on a Thursday morning
during one of our Comrnunity Café 5ession5 whith 185 people attend￿J. The church was full of people from the
local community wanting to TrlèbtBlf the Christrnas season, indijding clienis of 'Gateway Women, a charity set
up for those who have suff8red from dom8Sticvioienctr.

We hosted several carol Se￿￿$ over the Chri$tma$ period induding..
. Kings, schoal Christmas sèNieè for ov8r 200 students along wlth parents and tea¢hers
. A $grvic8 of traditional 8nd contemporary carols., there were 231 people in attendance. This had 8 very high
vel of produL*on and was made possib￿ by atnazing VDlunl¢ers frDm our t￿ngregatIons.

popular. We had 288 peopk attend the Servi￿ induding 84 under 18's. Many famili?s Irom the local
communty attended for the first ts"me, induding those who had becorne involved in the churth Community
through our Little Lions mid-waek todd￿rgroup.

We were p￿aged to host 8 Christingl8 seNKe. The sa￿1¢* was ￿Utrf￿l and included all a9es ¢￿atIng
Chri5tingles to takg home. The church looked stunning as the ni9ht drew in and ¢andlg$ wgre liL and childrgn $at
&ngaged with Ihe adults that brought them. A Midnight Communion S•Nice was held on Christmas Eve. with 97
people in ￿tter￿aTree joining together to see in Chn$trnas Pay. Finally. we had an all-age Christma5 Day Fami
Celebratyon, whero 139 pgople joined in with ￿r01? ar￿ fun for all thè farnily.
St Leonard's had an incredible Christmas 8eason, welcoming over 1000+ people from our congregation aThJ the
local eommunty to our Se￿￿& and events.

St Loonard'5 has an amazing Thtxture of ages, rangIr￿ frorn newborn babE5 to people in their 90,5. We have

and enjoy bari818 style coffee. Therg is one story of a young lady who came to the cafe and started to read the
bible that was Out. She asked lots Df quEstions and decNJed to do an Apha ujurse at St Leonard's and dec4ded
tofollow Jesus. Sha is now h8avity invdved with the churL* attending reguLgrfy sorving onwelcome anil alpha
teams.

R8rnembran￿ for all the community- Young people from ￿n9'S School and our congrègatioft Involv•d in
reading the Roll of HDnour to the dead of lh8 parish and m•mones of VE Day written by one of our ladY&$. Th
Servi￿ was attended by the Archdeacon of Brighton and Lewes and the Mayor of Brigh¢on and Hovg.

Our large churthyard with over 5(X) graves is a p8aeafvl gm•n spaee in an urban a￿a. Many people.

enjoy the pèate and quiet. lrnsh air and tre greenery.

The Green Gym continues to OP8ral6 in the Churchyard, they are an èxtamal gfDUP who tend to the churthyard.
Once tasks are complete in thg chur¢hyard they enjoy tea, coffee, and hornernade rAkès inthe U)e ¢hurd) on a
Thursday. It is great to have thpm enjoy the n6￿Y refurt)ished church in lh¢ wmunty café spac8 and unwind
fter o hard trM)rnin9 olgardening.
The G￿en Gym gardon t¢9?Ihor lorlhoir physical and mental well-bèing and companlonshlp. They vislt
monthly, wèathèr pèmitting, and enjoy the challenge of cjgaring the brambles 8nd uncovering previously hidden
graves and spring bulbs. The Green Gym love the tranquilh'ty of the churchyard and have workBd tirelessly
throughout 2025 Eo maintsin the greunds.

Decernber 2025.
The saleguar(ling team was expand￿ to include Ben Johnson and Kate Brid(nell as contscts for reportirKJ
safeguardiw con￿rn$. They were added to be able to report con￿M$ using My Concern. Infomiatic>n postgrs
updated. From March, 8 safgguarding Subgroup from th8 PCC stsrtèd to meet to discuss items in more detsil and

From June 2025 it became a wuirement of the DioGese that all kvjs and youth tsam members abo Comp￿tsd
training on Domg5ti¢ Abuse awaren￿$. This was crynp(etèd by all ts8m membèts by Dtrcember 2025.
