Chair of Trustees End of Year Report 2025. March 2[nd] , 2025 Page 1

Number of Trustees - 3 Number of Volunteers - 9

Reflecting on our first year as a registered charity, I am extremely pleased with all the efforts and hard work of the Trustees and Volunteers. While we have had some setbacks and upheavals, we managed to rise above these with consistent effort and enthusiasm. We have enlisted the help of Volunteers in three counties in the UK, which means we have given our presentations in six counties during our first year as a registered charity.

The Volunteers are also willing to continue their support for the Foundation in 2025, further assisting in the growth of the charity, and in alignment with our core values and our mission statement. They have all reported statistics and paid all fund-raising monies into the account so the Treasurer can perform the financial duties as required.

Currently the Volunteers are all having a much needed break from their fantastic efforts over the last few months, having all worked brilliantly within their teams and with the Trustees, helping us reach and exceed our targets for 2024. The Miss J Foundation Awareness presentation statistics for the year are included in the Company Secretary's Annual Report.

The Treasurer has completed the end of year financial statements, providing supporting evidence, and the Secretary has shown how we have surpassed our targets with figures revealing that, this year, we did 11 presentations and reached 342 people. With more than 80 percent of people reporting more confidence with self-checking, this means there is a higher possibility of them detecting breast cancer early. Hence we are furthering our Primary Purpose.

The Trustees have completed the 4 Seasons Program, which helped us to restructure our duties as Trustees. Those duties are now distributed to those trustees most suited to deal with them. This means we can operate effectively, and to the best of our abilities, both individually and as a team.

All three Trustees have completed courses on Fundraising and Strategy which helped highlight weaknesses within our current strategies. This enabled us to put changes in motion, which assisted us in revising our Mission Statement.

As we move into Year Two, we are excited to further expand our area of operations and reach a wider audience, in accordance with our mission statement, which is as follows: -

"We want to prevent secondary breast cancer by promoting regular, effective methods of self-examination.

We want every community – however marginalised – promoting these methods among their own members."

I am very much looking forward to seeing The Miss J Foundation continue on its upward trajectory over the next year.

Notes

Notes on Income & Expenditure are to aid planning and budgeting for the following year

Comments

This was our first year of operation, in this format, so we could not rely on any past data. Both our income, and our expenditure, were below our projections but we have produced enough surplus to finance some expansion in 2025, without the need of a large donation from one of our trustees.
