South Tyneside Gospel Trust c/o 23 St John’s Avenue, Hebburn NE31 2TZ Charity No: 1206557 Annual Report 2024
Trustees
The South Tyneside Gospel Trust (STGT) had 4 Trustees at the end of 2024:
-
Marjorie Hughes
-
Ian Somasundram
-
Paul Stokes
-
Leo Tsui
These Trustees are responsible for managing the Trust. There has been a change in the Trustees during 2024, namely that Pam Young ceased being a Trustee and Marjorie Hughes joined the Trustees. Trustees are recruited primarily from congregation members of local Anglican churches in South Tyneside, and must be able to sign up the Church of England Evangelical Council’s basis of faith.
Objects and Activities of the Trust
The objects of the CIO are for the public benefit to advance the evangelical Christian faith, as expressed by the Church of England Evangelical Council basis of faith, and may include the provision of grants or other funding to, and making available property for use by, churches and other Christian charities or groups in South Tyneside and the surrounding areas.
The Trustees met twice during the year, first in June to confirm the change in the Trustees as described above, and secondly in December to review the purpose of the Trust given information from two evangelical Anglican churches in South Tyneside and their financial affairs in relation to the Church of England.
Accordingly, during 2024 no funds were received by the Trust for the above purposes and no grant applications were made to STGT to further the objects of the Trust. This is because the anticipated need for the Trust has not yet sufficiently materialised as at present evangelical Christian churches within the Anglican tradition located within South Tyneside have been able to raise sufficient funds through ordinary means as theological changes within the Church of England are taking longer to materialise. However, should this situation change (and it may change rapidly), the Trust exists to provide a way for individual Christians to donate to Christian work according to their conscience.
As such, the STGT had no funds at the end of 2024, no debts and no funds held as a custodian Trustee.
