## **Report of the Trustees For the year ended 31 December 2024**
The Trustees submit their annual report and accounts of Grace Fellowship New Malden (“the Charity”) for the year ended 31 December 2024. The legal and administrative information set out earlier in this document forms part of this report. These accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis with a statement of assets and liabilities.
## **1. Structure and Governance**
The charity is established by constitution as a Foundation CIO which was registered with the Charity Commission in England and Wales on 15[th] January 2024. This is the charity’s first set of accounts.
Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees. In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO. Apart from the first charity trustees, charity trustees shall be appointed for an initial period of five years and shall thereafter retire as a charity trustee. Every charity trustee shall be required to affirm in writing, at least once in each calendar year, his or her continued acceptance of, and commitment to live in accordance with, the Basis of Faith.
## **2. Activities**
## _**Key Activities**_
The charity advances the Christian faith through organising and hosting groups, events and courses to enable people to know more about the Christian faith, to spread the good news about Jesus, and to meet needs in the community in and around New Malden.
## _**Public Benefit**_
The Trustees have regard to the guidance on public benefit issued by the Charity Commission when exercising any powers or duties to which the guidance would be relevant.
## **3. Achievements and Performance**
The charity was established in January 2024. This year the charity has been putting on a Free English class once a week for anyone wanting to improve their English-speaking skills, catering for beginners to advanced level. This included a Christmas event with carols and a short Christian talk, which was well attended. There were also 2 evening events for Christians in New Malden to understand the Muslim faith and culture and learn how to build relationships and share our faith with Muslims in the community. A donation was made towards a car for a missionary family in need who had previously worked locally and are currently working in Mexico with the missionary organisation SIM.
## **4. Financial Review**
A large donation was received from Emmanuel Church Wimbledon in July 2024 consisting of money that they had been holding for the charity for the past couple of years from many supporters. The charity has started to spend this money on the activities outlined above. At 31 December 2024 the Charity had free reserves of £65,284 (2023: £nil).
## _**Policy on Reserves**_
The charity is currently holding a large amount of money that has been built up over the last few years. Now that the charity has been formally established, the Trustees expect to gradually reduce the reserves by spending between £5,000 and £10,000 per annum over the next few years.
## **5. Responsibilities of Trustees for the Accounts**
Charity law requires the Trustees to prepare accounts for each accounting year which record the receipts and payments of the charity for the year. The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable us to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011. The Trustees also have a responsibility to safeguard the assets of the charity and to take reasonable steps to prevent fraud or any other irregularities.

## **6. Responsibilities of Trustees for the Accounts**
The Trustees declare that they have approved the trustees’ report above on 15 September 2025 and it was signed on behalf of the charity’s trustees by:

## **Report of the Independent Examiner to the trustees of Grace Fellowship New Malden**
I report on the accounts of Grace Fellowship New Malden for the year ended 31 December 2024, set out on pages 6 to 7.
This report is made solely to the Trustees in accordance with section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Act). My independent examination has been undertaken so that I might state to the Trustees those matters I am required to state to them in an independent examiner’s report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by the law, I do not accept responsibility to anyone other than the Trustees for my independent examination, for this report, or the opinions I have formed.
## **RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRUSTEES AND EXAMINER**
The Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this period (under section 144(2) of the Act) and that an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:
- Examine the accounts (under section 145 of the Act);
- To follow the procedures laid down in the General Direction given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Act); and
- To state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
## **BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S STATEMENT**
My examination was carried out in accordance with General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts.
## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S STATEMENT**
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records; or
3. the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair view’ which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
