## **1. Structure, Governance and Management**
Light Up Children Charity is a registered charity established to support vulnerable children in underserved communities. This reporting period marks our first year operating as a registered charity. Trustees have prioritised building a strong governance framework, ensuring compliance with Charity Commission guidance, and implementing robust policies and procedures.
## **2. Objectives and Activities**
The charity’s objective is to support and uplift vulnerable children by providing essential resources, including food and care. Activities are carried out both directly and through partnerships, ensuring impact reaches those most in need.
## **3. Achievements and Performance**
During this period, the charity focused on establishing a solid operational foundation. Key achievements include onboarding three volunteers supporting policy development, grant applications, and communications. Multiple grant applications were submitted, and social media channels were used to educate and engage the community.
We continued our charitable activities in the Democratic Republic of Congo, reaching over 200 children across three homes and providing regular meals and support.
## **4. Financial Review**
The charity has focused on establishing sustainable funding streams through grant applications and community engagement. Financial management processes have been implemented to ensure transparency and accountability.
## **5. Plans for Future Periods**
Trustees aim to expand programmes, strengthen partnerships, and secure long-term funding. The charity will continue building on its previous work while increasing its reach and impact.
