Trustees Report  January 2024-June 2025 Olcote Sanctuary charity number 10206416 

THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, TO RELIEVE THE SUFFERING OF, PRIMARILY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, EQUINES IN ENGLAND IN NEED OF CARE AND ATTENTION AND, IN PARTICULAR, TO PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN RESCUE HOMES OR OTHER FACILITIES FOR THE RECEPTION, CARE AND TREATMENT OF SUCH ANIMALS 

Charity status was gained in January 2024 

The charity comprised of numerous ponies some of which could be rehabilitated and rehomed, the  others would remain under the care of the sanctuary as were old, ill, Our first rescue as a registered  charity comprised of an elderly mare who had been neglected to the point of starvation. This was a  local rescue which culminated in her spending almost 12 months almost to the day at the sanctuary  enjoying being loved and fed before one day finding her peacefully passed away in her stable. 

2 ponies were euthanised due to 1 acute case of colic and another with a longstanding condition  where he was assessed and the decision was made that his suffering had to stop. 



Fundraising 

Various fundraisers were held throughout the year. We worked in partnership with Foxfield Railway where we took the animals for the benefit of the public to further our work. 

Pony pamper sessions were held and were very popular 

with younger children Sheep cuddling and walking 

sessions were held these were very popular 

We did a large fundraiser at Trentham Gardens emergency services day where we took a variety of  animals including ponies, sheep and chickens. The feedback we had from there was outstanding with  a return invitation for this year. 

We worked alongside Caudwell children for a fun afternoon with our animals benefitting service  users with autism 

We provided animals for a childrens home where they were 

delighted with our appearance. 

Pub in forsbrook arranged a fundraiser for the sanctuary 



Various business have supported us by raising money 

Adoptions packs were set up by a volunteer which proved very successful 

Rehoming 

- 4 ponies were rehomed to other sanctuaries 

## 3 ponies passed away 

The remaining ponies have been permanently rehomed to the charity trustee Jayne Boyles.
