One of the members of the CIO is St Hild College, a charity which shares the CIO’s aims and vision and delivers theological education and training. The CIO worked with the College to establish a programme of Baptist Formation which meets the needs of the member Associations. This working relationship also allows the CIO to advise St Hild College so that its activities are relevant to and representative of Baptist beliefs and principles.

Future Plans

Following an official launch in September 2024, the CIO members will continue to work together to establish and grow the Centre, working with St Hild College to deliver Baptist training and formation to meet the needs of the member Associations.

The trustee body will be expanded, in accordance with the constitution, with consideration given to ensuring diversity and a range of skills.

The members will also carry out work to determine the best framework for the relationship with St Hild College as we partner together to achieve our common aims.

Summary

In this report we have covered the seven-month period from our registration (5[th] January 2024) which served as preparation for the official launch of the centre in September 2024. We are encouraged that BUGB Council saw the CBM as a suitable vehicle through which ministers could be formed and a new generation of leaders raised up and value the ongoing partnership between the members of the CIO. We look forward to the CBM growing and expanding in future months and years and to fuller reports in due course.
