Our aim as a charitable organisation is to open an arts centre in Guisborough, and this year we have made a start by promoting the arts activities which will find a home in the arts centre, and demonstrating the community’s appetite for the arts and the centre.
The following projects were initiated and completed during the year.
Guisborough Giant arts trail
Enabled by generous grants, donations, and a huge amount of voluntary work, our Guisborough Giant arts trail was well supported by community Summary of the main groups, artists and the public who explored the trail following the trail maps activities undertaken for the we provided. We welcome the contribution made by our wonderful volunteers, making art administering events keeping accounts and other back office functions. Numbers of volunteers varied week by week and were in the range 10-15 people in most weeks of the Guisborough Giant project.
Professional artists made a significant contribution providing skills, confidence and inspiration to people in our community; some worked on a pro bono basis; others were paid: all fee payment rates were in line with artists’ union guidelines for best practice.
