in musicianship for all ages under the
direction of qualified and experienced
brass tutors.
The Band provides music services to
Ampthill and surrounding communities,
notably for town and village festivals,
Armistice Parades, Christmas services and
carol events, church and club events, and
other special occasions. It performs in
Ampthill’s public parks and spaces, and
gives seasonal concerts, sometimes shared
with school and senior choirs and other
music organisations.
During 2024 the band gave 27
performances, 10 for Ampthill Town
Council, another 4 for Ampthill-based
Community Organisations , 4 of the Band’s
own concert events, 13 community events,
mainly village fetes, in neighbouring areas.
During 2024, with external grant aid, the
Band continued its collaboration with
Inspiring Music, Central Bedfordshire
District Council’s Music Service, to promote
brass musicianship in the local Middle
Schools , including tuition and joint
performances**.**|

than 120 years ago, is an important

families About 30 existing members,

(ii) Band public audiences: the Band
typically performs on about
30 occasions per year, mostly in public
places, to audiences that range from 80
people to 2,000 (Summer ‘Proms’ type
events in the Park). The Band leads the
Armistice Parades in Ampthill and Flitwick
which are each attended by about 1,000
people. Christmas Carolling probably
serves over 2,500 people. About 10,000
people probably hear or 'listen' to the Band
in any year. We also play at seasonal
village fetes that support local businesses
and traders.|
