Activities**

and
Objectives** 

The
core
objectives
of
Freedom
Church
Cardiff,
are
summarised
as
follows꞉ 

The
advancement
of
the
Christian
religion
mainly,
but
not
exclusively,
by
means
of꞉
broadcasting
Christian
messages
of
an
evangelistic
and
teaching
nature;
holding
meetings;
and
producing
or
distributing
literature
about
Christianity. The
prevention
or
relief
of
poverty
or
financial
hardship
anywhere
in
the
world
by
providing
or
assisting
through
all
necessary
support
to
help
individuals
be
self‑sufficient.

To
advance
in
life
and
help
young
people
through
activities, training
and
support.

The
relief
of
persons
who
are
in
conditions
of
need,
hardship
or
distress,
or
who
are
aged
or
sick. 

Our
mission
statement
captures
the
essence
of
these
aims;
'Connecting
anyone
anywhere
to
a
life‑changing
relationship
with
Jesus'. Our
vision
at
Freedom
Church
Cardiff
is
to
see

Vibrant
Life
Giving
Generous
Church’.

objectives
are

benefit
greatly from
these
close
partnerships,
and
offer
help
where
beneficial. 

Freedom
Church
Cardiff
relies
heavily
on
the
contribution
of
volunteers
who
are
actively
involved
in
almost
every
aspect
of
Freedom
Church
Cardiff
and
the
delivery
of
our
services,
events,
ministries
and
programmes.

A
large percentage
of
our
church
members
volunteer
at
our
events
supporting
the
staff
and
leadership
team,
and
we
are
very
grateful
for
their
time,
passion,
and
skills. 

**Public
Benefit** Core
to
our
approach
as
a
charity
is
the
objective
of
generating
a
public
benefit.
We
continue
to
do
this
in
all
of
the
areas
of
our
activity.

The
trustees
confirm
that
they
have
complied
with
the
requirements
of
section
4
of
the
Charities Act
2011
to
have
due
regard
to
the
public
benefit
guidance
published
by
the
Charity
Commission
for
England
and
Wales.
The
CIO
complies
with
the
Code
of
Fundraising
Practice.
It
does
not
engage
the
services
of
professional fundraisers
commercial
participators. 

The
trustees
confirm
that
they
have
complied
with
the
requirements
of
Section
17
of
the
Charities
Act
2011
to
have
due
regard
to
the
Charity
Commission’s
guidance
on
public
benefit. 

## **Achievements
and
Performance** 

## **Main
Achievements** 

The
2024‑25
year
has
been
an
exciting
year
which
ushered
in
a
new
era
in
Freedom
Church
Cardiff.
At
‘The
Charge’,
which
is
our
Annual
leaders
gathering
held
in
October
2023,
it
was
announced
that
a
localised
ministry
in
Cardiff would
be
launched
from
our
central
church
location,
Freedom
Church
Hereford.

This
move
provided
for
local
church
leadership
with
increased
autonomy
to
better
reach
our
local
community
promoting
healthy
and
sustainable
growth in
our
church.

We
remain
part
of
the
Freedom
Nation
and
under
the
ultimate
leadership
of
our
senior
pastors
and
directional
leadership
team. 

Freedom
Church
Cardiff
gained
Charity
status
in
January
2024
and
the
first
board
of
Trustees
was
established.

A
major
step
towards
increasing
the
capacity
of
the
church
to
achieve
our
charitable
aims,
vision
and
core
aims
was
to employ
our
incumbent
Lead
Pastor
in
a
full
time
capacity
May
2024.

With
this
we
were
able
to
provide
a
live
message
each
week
in
place
of
a
pre‑recorded
broadcast
and
we
are
confident
that
this
has
contributed
significantly
to
our growth
and
connectivity
to
our
community.
An
associate
Pastor
was
also
appointed
for
one
day
a
week
to
oversee
our
women’s
ministry
known
as
‘She’
and
to
act
as
our
Safeguarding
Lead. In
this
year
we
saw
our
church
in
Cardiff
grow
from
an
average
weekly
congregation
of
127
people
to
an
average
of
156
people
each
week.

17
people
were
baptised
during
the
year
and
28
people
responded
to
the
message
of
the
Gospel indicating
they
wanted
to
give
their
life
to
Jesus. 

The
diversity
of
our
congregation
continues
to
increase
each
week
notably
with
the
numbers
of
young
people
in
attendance.

The
church
this
year
increased
it’s
reach
into
many
different
spheres
such
as
professionals,
students, entrepreneurs,
creatives,
single
parents,
increased
age
diversity
and
nationalities
reflecting
the
community
we
serve. During
the
reporting
period
we
have
provided
opportunities
for
people
to
join
together
and
learn
more
about
our
faith
and
how
it
applies
in
everyday
life.

This
included
a
marriage
course
helping
to
build
strong
marriages,
a
Bible
course unpacking
the
timeless
truths
of
the
Bible
and
helping
people
understand
the
context
and
the
content
of
it. A
community
group
met
and
helped
individuals
with
practical
needs
such
as
transforming
the
garden
of
a
single
mum
undergoing
treatment
for
cancer
to
become
a
place
her
and
her
children
can
enjoy.

At
Christmas
we
supported Boomerang
and
Age
Cymru
with
their
Christmas
projects
with
our
church
donating
gifts
to
be
distributed
by
those
local
organisations.

Rocknations,
a
youth
conference
in
Bradford.

This
incredible
event
saw
our
young
people
impacted
by
the
messages
and
the
worship
while
giving
them
the
opportunity
to
travel
and
see
other
expressions
of the
Christian
faith.. 

Our
Leadership
Night
School
is
where
we
train
and
equip
emerging
and
developing
leaders
within
our
church
with
the
skills
learnt
being
transferable
to
apply
in
all
aspects
of
life
and
faith.

This
is
our
only
paid
course
covering
the
cost of
venue
hire,
materials
and
teaching
and
this
reflects
the
benefits
of
the
course
to
the
individual
and
the
commitment
required
by
all
involved.

The
costs
include
tickets
to
our
annual
church
conference
The
Cave,
and
our
annual
leaders event
The
Charge. 

During
this
reporting
period
a
significant
proportion
of
our
spend
has
been
on
venue
hire
for
our
meetings
and
events
and
storage
costs
for
equipment
and
our
aim
for
the
20205
to
2026
reporting
period
is
to
reduce
storage
costs
and spend
on
private
venue
hire
by
securing
offices
to
serve
our
community
with
a
place
to
gather,
for
ministry
operations
to
be
based
and
for
a
continued
increase
in
the
quality
of
broadcast
media. 

2024
to
2025
has
been
a
year
of
foundation
laying
in
our
processes
and
policies,
a
year
of
growth
in
our
leaders
and
congregation
and
has
set
the
stage
for
future
generations
to
continue
to
build
a
vibrant,
life
giving,
generous
church.

## **Governing
Document** 

Freedom
Church
Cardiff
is
a
constituted
Charitable
Incorporated
Organisation
(CIO)
and
is
part
of
a
movement
of
churches
known
as
Freedom
Church. 

## **Trustee
Selection
Methods** 

Trustees
of
Freedom
Church
Cardiff
are
recruited
and
appointed
from
within
the
organisation's
membership. 

Trustees
are
recruited
for
an
initial
term
of
three
years
taking
our
current
board
into
December
2026.

Changes
to
the
board
will
be
made
by
a
resolution
passed
at
a
properly
convened
meeting
of
the
charity
trustees.
In
selecting individuals
for
appointment,
the
trustees
must
have
regard
to
the
skills,
knowledge
and
experience
needed
for
the
effective
administration
of
the
CIO.

All
new
trustees
are
provided
with
the
Charity
Commission's
guidance
on
the
duties of
a
trustee. 

## **Statement
of
Trustees'
Responsibilities** 

The
board
of
trustees
is
charged
with
ensuring
that
Freedom
Church
meets
its
charitable
aims
in
an
appropriate,
legal
and
accountable
manner 

The
trustees
provide
governance
oversight
to
the
church's
Pastors
who
work
closely
with
our
directional
leadership
team
and
area
leaders
to
apply
that
governance,
accountability
and
process
to
the
everyday
operations
of
the
church. The
safety
and
wellbeing
of
our
church
members
and
staff
remains
a
key
priority
for
us
and
therefore
we
have
continued
our
investment
in
safeguarding
training
for
all
our
Trustees,
staff
and
volunteers. A
large
number
of
the
decisions
relating
to
the
CIO
are
made
by
the
Pastors
and
directional
leadership
team
but
are
subject
to
the
accountability,
approval
and
oversight
of
the
board
of
trustees. The
board
of
trustees
makes
all
decisions
relating
to
remuneration
of
staff
and
use
benchmarked
salaries
against
equivalent
roles
in
other
sectors. 

The
trustees
are
responsible
for
preparing
the
Trustees'
Report
and
the
financial
statements
in
accordance
with
applicable
law
and
United
Kingdom
Accounting
Standards
(United
Kingdom
Generally
Accepted
Accounting
Practice). 

The
law
applicable
to
charities
in
England
and
Wales,
the
Charities
Act
2011,
Charity
(Accounts
and
Reports)
Regulations
2008
and
the
provisions
of
the
trust
deed
requires
the
trustees
to
prepare
financial
statements
for
each
financial year
which
give
a
true
and
fair
view
of
the
state
of
affairs
of
the
charity
and
of
the
incoming
resources
and
application
of
resources,
including
the
income
and
expenditure,
of
the
charity
for
that
period. 

In
preparing
those
financial
statements,
the
trustees
are
required
to
select
suitable
accounting
policies
and
then
apply
them
consistently;
observe
the
methods
and
principles
in
the
Charity
SORP;
make
judgements
and
estimates
that
are reasonable
and
prudent;
state
whether
applicable
accounting
standards
have
been
followed,
subject
to
any
material
departures
disclosed
and
explained
in
the
financial
statements;
*
prepare
the
financial
statements
on
the
going
concern basis
unless
it
is
inappropriate
to
presume
that
the
charity
will
continue
in
business. 

The
trustees
are
responsible
for
keeping
proper
accounting
records
which

reasonable

at
any
time

financial
position

the
charity
and
to
enable
them
to
ensure
that
the
financial
statements
comply
with
the Charities
Act
2011,

(Accounts
