SHEAF POETRY FESTIVAL 1206253 77 Valley Road Sheffield S8 9FT ## Trustees: Shirin Teifouri, Brian Lewis, Sara Jayne Hill, Kate Hewett Structure: The charity is a CIO with a foundation model article of association. There are currently four trustees who manage the governance, finance and reporting of the charity, but we are seeking to recruit more. So far we have advertised the role on Sheaf Poetry Festival’s website and social media accounts, as well as directly communicating with other local organisations in our networks. We currently have no employed members of staff. 2023-24 Sheaf Poetry Festival is currently in a semi-dormant state due to a lack of funding. Two arts council Funding applications were submitted in October and December 2023 for a May 2024 festival and two smaller applications were made to local funds which were also unsuccessful. We made a bid for a local development fund in Sheffield in spring 2024 but this was also unsuccessful. This would have helped us develop our organisation’s policies, strategies and structure. We are now operating as a board of four trustees with several volunteers, including former employee Suzannah Evans. One trustee, Danae Wellington, resigned in 2024 due to the dormancy of the festival. Between December 2023 and July 2024 we had three board meetings at which funding applications and partnerships, as well as any other relevant matters, were discussed. No festival events have been held within the report period. Our main objective at present is to start some smaller sustainable events which will enable the festival to regain a presence and resume manageable grassroots progress towards our charitable aims before attempting to make larger funding applications. We have begun to develop some new partnerships which we hope will help with this. Financially we have spent very little, on website maintenance only, and we have not received any new funding so we have used existing balance to pay for this.
