THE OBJECTS ARE: TO PRESERVE THE WELFARE AND QUALITY OF LIFE AND SUPPORT PATIENTS DIAGNOSED WITH, AND THEIR CARERS AND THEIR FAMILIES AFFECTED BY, OESOPHAGEALGASTRIC CANCER THROUGHOUT SE ENGLAND FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT BY: 1/ OFFERING PATIENT TO PATIENT / CARER TO CARER SUPPORT THOUGH OUR MONTHLY SUPPORT GROUPS AND INDIVIDUAL ONE TO ONE SUPPORT. 2/ ENSURING ALL PATIENTS, CARERS AND FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE ALL THE INFORMATION (PRINTED AND ONLINE) THEY NEED AT POINT OF DIAGNOSIS AND THROUGHOUT THEIR TREATMENT PATHWAY. 3/ IMPROVING THE PUBLIC'S UNDERSTANDING AND KNOWLEDGE OF SYMPTOMS TO ENABLE EARLY DIAGNOSIS, MAKING TREATMENT CHOICES AND ADVISING ON THE THERAPIES AVAILABLE 4/ PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION, SERVICES, THERAPIES, FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT NOT PROVIDED BY STATUTORY AUTHORITIES WHICH WILL BENEFIT PATIENTS DIRECTLY. 5/ ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION, PROVIDING SUPPORT TO AND PROMOTING THE CLINICAL RESEARCH INTO OESOPHAGEAL-GASTRIC CANCER THAT WILL BENEFIT PATIENTS DIRECTLY.
