Objectives and Activities
Technology Books for Children exists to encourage reading for pleasure on technology topics and to help children and young people see technology as relevant, enjoyable, and accessible. The charity promotes technology themed texts to support digital literacy and to help address the digital divide.
During the year, the charity’s activities included:

Curating age appropriate recommendations of technology themed books to promote technology literacy.

Providing free resources for schools and teachers, including lesson materials and virtual reading packs, to support the integration of technology reading into the curriculum.

Community engagement through author visits, reading events, and related initiatives that encourage participation and enthusiasm for technology themed reading.

Launching a publication for teenagers to support understanding of tech careers
The trustees confirm that they have had due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit when planning and delivering the charity’s activities.
Financial Review
Total income for the year was £10,044.51.
Total expenditure for the year was £9,939.80.
Expenditure included £9,822.33 on charitable activities, £63.97 on support costs, and £53.50 on governance costs.
This means that 98.82% of total expenditure was applied directly to charitable activities.
The charity recorded a surplus of £104.71 for the year.
Reserves Policy
In addition to grant funding, the charity generated small amounts of supplementary income during the year, contributing to a modest surplus and supporting the charity’s reserves position.
Structure, Governance and Management
The charity is governed by its governing document and is managed by the trustees, who are responsible for strategic direction and oversight. Trustees meet as required to review performance, monitor finances, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
Trustee Responsibilities Statement
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report and the receipts and payments accounts in accordance with applicable law and regulations. The trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records that disclose
with reasonable accuracy the financial position of the charity and enable the preparation of accounts that comply with the Charities Act 2011.
The trustees confirm that the accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis.
