**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

## 1. **Launch of the Charity (Dec 2023)** 

- Successfully constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) with a clear mission to promote technology-themed books and digital literacy for children. 

## 2. **Book Reviews & Recommendations** 

- Created and published **book reviews** linked to themes such as Artificial Intelligence,  Online Safety, Digital Citizenship, Gaming, Coding etc 

- Recommendations were linked to awareness days and national curriculum topics to make technology more accessible and relatable for children and educators. 

## 3. **Educational Resources** 

- Developed **downloadable worksheets and blog articles** to support at-home or in-school engagement with techthemed books. 

- Resources aim to encourage reading for pleasure while introducing core technology concepts. 

## 4. **Strategic Partnerships and Awareness Days** 

- Collaborated with schools, publishers, authors and education organisations to amplify impact. 

- Shared content linking tech and tech books with events like Halloween, Christmas, Michael Rosen Manifesto for Reading 

## 5. **Advocacy & Visibility** 

- Raised awareness through social campaigns and speaking engagements about the role of books in digital literacy.

In our first year, Technology Books for Children made strong foundational progress - launching, building resources and forming partnerships that directly support our charitable objectives. We reached just over 2,500 people.  Our work has begun to bridge gaps between literacy and technology, especially for underrepresented children, by promoting accessible, inspiring tech-themed literature.

The trustees have agreed to hold a reserve equivalent to six months of base operating costs, (domain registrations, registered office, ICO fee) to ensure the charity’s financial sustainability and ability to respond to unexpected events or funding delays.
