This reporting period represents an important stage in the charity's development. Throughout the year, the Trustees focused on strengthening the organisation's governance, financial management, strategic planning and community engagement to ensure the charity was well positioned for future growth. Although the charity operated on modest financial resources during the year, considerable progress was made in developing partnerships, engaging local residents, identifying community needs and preparing new employability initiatives aimed at tackling unemployment and economic inactivity within Hackney. A significant milestone occurred shortly after the financial year end when Non Prof-Eat secured a £20,000 National Lottery Community Fund Awards for All grant to deliver its flagship employability programme, **Pathways to Progress Hackney** . Whilst this funding falls outside this reporting period and is therefore not recognised within these financial statements, it demonstrates growing confidence in the charity's work and provides a strong platform for future service delivery. The Trustees remain committed to supporting disadvantaged individuals through education, employability, community engagement and partnership working. ## **Trustees' Report** The Trustees present their Annual Report together with the Financial Statements of Non Prof-Eat for the year ended 12 October 2025. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and the Charity Commission's guidance for smaller charities preparing Receipts and Payments Accounts. ## **Objectives and Public Benefit** Non Prof-Eat exists to relieve unemployment, reduce social exclusion and advance education for the public benefit by providing employability advice, information, skills development, mentoring and community support. The charity works particularly with unemployed people, economically inactive residents, young adults, individuals from Black and Ethnic Minority communities and those facing multiple barriers to employment. In exercising their duties, the Trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit and are satisfied that all activities undertaken during the year furthered the charity's charitable purposes. ## **Achievements and Performance** Although the charity remained in an organisational development phase during the reporting period, several important achievements were realised. During the year the Trustees: - Strengthened the charity's governance arrangements and financial management procedures. - Continued to build relationships with local voluntary organisations and community stakeholders across Hackney. - Undertook extensive community engagement to better understand barriers to employment experienced by local residents. - Continued developing an employability support model focusing on practical job search assistance, skills development and community-based support. - Began planning the **Pathways to Progress Hackney** programme, designed to support unemployed and economically inactive residents into sustainable employment. - Developed stronger partnerships with organisations capable of supporting future project delivery, volunteer recruitment and community referrals. - Continued preparing funding applications to secure long-term sustainability. The Trustees believe these activities have significantly strengthened the organisation's capacity and readiness for future programme delivery. ## **Structure, Governance and Management** Non Prof-Eat is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation governed by its Board of Trustees. The Trustees meet regularly throughout the year to oversee: - strategic planning - financial management - safeguarding - governance - compliance - organisational development - risk management Day-to-day activities continue to be supported through voluntary effort, enabling the charity to maximise the use of its limited financial resources. Trustees receive no remuneration for their services. ## **Risk Management** The Trustees regularly review the principal risks facing the charity. Key risks identified include: - dependence upon grant funding - financial sustainability - volunteer recruitment and retention - safeguarding responsibilities - cyber security - data protection compliance - increasing demand for employability support Risk mitigation measures include: - maintaining prudent financial controls - developing multiple funding opportunities - strengthening governance arrangements - building local partnerships - reviewing policies regularly - maintaining appropriate safeguarding procedures The Trustees consider that these measures provide reasonable assurance that the charity can continue to operate effectively. ## **Financial Review** During the year the charity continued to operate with modest unrestricted income derived primarily from donations and community contributions. Total income received during the year amounted to **£440.00** . Total expenditure amounted to **£247.27** , comprising primarily bank charges and associated banking costs. This resulted in a surplus of **£192.73** , which has been retained to support future charitable activities. The Trustees are satisfied that expenditure remained proportionate and carefully controlled throughout the year. ## **Reserves Policy** The Trustees aim to maintain unrestricted reserves sufficient to meet essential operating costs whilst continuing charitable activities. As the charity grows, the Trustees intend to build reserves equivalent to approximately three months of operating expenditure. ## **Future Plans** The Trustees have ambitious plans for the coming year. These include: - delivering **Pathways to Progress Hackney** - providing employability workshops - introducing weekly employment drop-in sessions - delivering CV writing and interview preparation support - supporting beneficiaries through mentoring - developing digital employability support - strengthening relationships with Hackney CVS and other community partners - expanding volunteer recruitment - securing additional grant funding - increasing community outreach across Hackney These activities will significantly increase the charity's impact and support more residents experiencing unemployment and economic hardship. ## **Post Balance Sheet Event** Following the reporting period, in **November 2025** , Non Prof-Eat successfully secured a **£20,000 grant from The National Lottery Community Fund (Awards for All)** . The funding will support delivery of **Pathways to Progress Hackney** , a two-year employability programme designed to assist unemployed and economically inactive residents into sustainable employment. As the grant was received after the reporting date, it has **not** been recognised within these financial statements. Expenditure is recognised when paid.
