Structure, Governance and Management Ysgol Esgob Morgan PTFA is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). Our constitution was adopted on November 9, 2023 and we registered with the Charity Commission in December 2023. Trustees are appointed through a simple vote at our Annual General Meeting (AGM). We meet quarterly to plan and review our work. We operate as a volunteer-led group. Trustees carry out planning, budgeting, and event coordination. The headteacher serves as an ex officio member to align our work with school priorities. 3. Objectives and Activities: Our mission is to support the staff and pupils of Ysgol Esgob Morgan through activities and resources that sit outside government funding. We aim to enrich learning, promote well-being, and strengthen school-community ties. In 2023-2024, our objectives were to: - Fundraise for additional classroom and play equipment - Support school-led events with volunteers and resources - Build parent and community engagement 4. Achievements and Performance Key achievements in 2023-2024: - Held 5 successful events: - Halloween disco - Easter Bingo - Christmas Market - Sponsored Walk - Uniform Swap Shop - Raised a total of £36,518 through grants and events - Purchased and donated the following to the school: - Forest school shelter (£15,000) - Digital learning tools (e.g. iPads, apple TVs, etc) (£2,400) - Playground supplies (£2000) - Garden improvements (£11,500) - Secured in-kind support from 4 local businesses - Supported the school’s ALN (Additional Learning Needs) team by funding sensory tools ## Community Engagement: - Increased parent volunteers from 0 to 12 5. Financial Review Income - Total income: £36,518 - Fundraising events: £6,200 - Grants: £30,318 ## Expenditure - Total spent: £32500 - Equipment purchases: £30,900 - Event costs: £1,500 ## Balance - Surplus for the year: £4,200 - Closing balance (as of 31 July 2024): £21,989.63* - Not all payments for the forest school shelter and garden renovations had cleared at the end of July, but the work had started and committed. Reserve Policy We aim to hold a minimum of £3000 in reserves. This covers costs for emergency needs or event deposits. 6. Plans for the Future In 2024-2025, we plan to: - Continue to improve the Eco garden, establishing a sensory bed and cut flower garden - Continue to enrich the learning environment by providing additional classroom resources as requested by the staff - Enhance the fundraising and community events calendar - Apply for local and national small grants 7.
