Annual Trustees Report
The Trustees present their first report for the period 4[th] December 2023 to 31[st] July 2024.
During this period this charity did not undertake any charitable activities as it was decided the new Charity would become active at the start of the new financial year (1[st] August 2024). The Trustees have therefore prepared dormant accounts.
Structure, governance and management
The Charity was registered in England and Wales with the Charities Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), registration number 1206042, on 4[th] December 2023.
The Trustees listed on page 3 are responsible for the governance and management of the Charity, having regard to the charitable purposes as stated in the governing document. The Trustees have put strategies and policies in place together with financial systems and procedures to mitigate risk.
The Trustees meet regularly, generally with other non-executive members of the Society (e.g. a representative from both the Social Committee and the Publicity Committee as well as the Musical Director), to enable the efficient running of the charity. This includes the setting of an annual budget for events and the day-to-day administration of the charity as well as conducting the Annual General Meeting for Members.
Objectives
The Charity’s Objectives are to advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, art and science of music in all its aspects by any means the Trustees see fit, including through the presentation of public concerts and recitals.
No events were undertaken during this period.
Future Achievements
The Charity took over the activities and net assets of the former Bracknell Choral Society, charity registration number 282753, from 1[st] August 2024. On the same date the older charity was dissolved.
The former charity was first established in 1960 and built its membership up to about 100 members by the time it was dissolved in 2024. It held weekly term-time rehearsals and performed several choral concerts a year for the general public, throughout its existence. The decision to change to a CIO structure was taken due to the more limited liability for Trustees of a CIO, this was felt to be an enabler to the future recruitment of Charity Trustees. The new charity will continue with the same activities as the previous one.

This new charity will prepare its financial statements on a receipts and payments basis, with a statement of assets and liabilities at the first active year-end of 31[st] July 2025.
Statement of Trustees’ Responsibilities
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees' Annual Report and the Statement of Assets and Liabilities in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards.
The law applicable to charities in England & Wales allows the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial period which state the receipts and payments of the Charity and of the net assets at the period-end. In preparing these financial statements, the Trustees are required to:
~ select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;
~ observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP if applicable,
~ make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;
~ state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; ~ prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records that disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the governing document. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities
This report was approved by the Trustees on 19[th] July 2025..and signed on their behalf by:

Independent Examiner’s report to the Trustees of Bracknell Choral Society
I report to the Trustees on my examination of the accounts of Bracknell Choral Society (the Society) for the period ended 31[st] July 2024.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the Trustees of the Society you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 as amended by the Charities Act 2022. I report in respect of my examination of the Society’s accounts and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission.
Independent Examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that the Society was dormant for the period from registration, 4[th] December 2023, to the year-end of 31[st] July 2024 and that no financial transactions were undertaken during that time.
These initial accounts have been prepared after the normal time deadline required by the Charity Commission. I am satisfied that recent communication with the Commission has been open and complete and that the Trustees have complied with their responsibilities in preparing these accounts.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
