Intri)duction from PTA Co£hairs
The PTA committee stayed much the same for our second year in off￿. So, with a little more
experience under our bells, we were able lo gel started quickty in September with our
Macmillan coffee moming and then as the Christmas feslivtlies began, we once again opened
our Elfridges Chrislmas shop to pupils. 2024 culminated in Ihe Christmas Fayre which was a
fantastic afternoon and an incredibty successful fundraiser thanks in part to our very generous
lead sponsor, JMB Design and Build. In the New Year we began working on the Family Bingo
Night, followed by the Easter Egg Hunt and then we broughl the academic year to a close with
the Summer Fete.
This last year has been a very excrting one for the PTA. Not only watching all of the Lo¢hinver
families enjoy a host of successful PTA events, but also seeing the instalment of the new fixed
apparatus in the central playground which was afforded through years of PTA fundraising.
Seeing all of the boys enjoy the new climbing wall, outdoor toys. football tables, reflection
garden and much more, has filled us all with pride. We are delighted to have been a small part
in the efforts lo provide such wonderful resources for all current and future pupils. Along with
this we were also able to give over £12,000 from 2023-24 fundraising to the school for
numerous items requested by the staff, which we hope will enrich the school life of our children
and contribute to their successful education at Ltthinver House.
All of the PTA'S success would not be FK)ssible without the huge support from school staff and
parents, giving generously of both their time and money. We are extremely grateful for this
support and give our sincere thanks to you all. As most of us slep down from our post5 at the
upcoming AGM, we would like to pass on our best wishes to the new LHS PTAcommittee and
hope they enjoy being such an integral part of our wonderful school community.

Fundraisin
achievement 202&25
We are delighled lo say Ihal after a year of hard work we have raised £18,832 for our
school. This is an incredible amounl and we are so incredibty graleful for the generosity of all
our Lochinver families and friends. We very much look fO￿ard lo allocaling these funds in
the autumn, in order to continue supporting the school and contributing to Ihe happiness of
school lrfe for all of the pupils.
Fundraisin
Activities
As mentioned above. one of the S￿n￿leanI ways we support Ihe school is through raising
funds by running communty events. Following is an outline of events that took place over the
last year.
Elfridges
We were very excrted for Elfridges to relurn for a Se￿nd year running with even more tickets
sold and festive and fun presents bought for loved ones. The festive season is one of joy and
giving and this event really embodies that idea. The children are invrted lo a gr¢)tto. operated
by parent volunteers, decorated in festive trappings and filled with grfis they can buy for their
loved ones. 11 is an absolute pleasure to watch and help the children as they navigate their
way through choosing the perfect gift. Each child spends lime thinking about the people in
their lives and the things that make them happy and unique before choosing a gift they feel
embodied that loved one. Finishing with wrapping and bagging them up themselves and taking
them home lo be pul aside for the holidays. although often in our experience quite a few are
opened early.

Christmas Fayre
As the cold winter months set in there is nothing more lovely than creating a Spa￿ filled with
festive games and the smell of hot food and sugared Iieals. The school becomes a hive of
light and warmlh for all the children. with Ihe finishing times staggered to allow our littlest
students the space lo enjoy Ihe experience before the excited rush of the older children.
This year our summer sponsors, JMB Build and Design wanted lo exlend that generosity to
the Christmas Fayre and il allowed us lo hire some incredible games and rides for all ages,
from mechanical reindeer rides to snowball catching experiences, amazing fun was had by
The PTA spend a lot of time sourcing and organising both the internal games, visrting sessions
and the external grft and food stall holders. Really keeping in mind the sprit of the event and
creating a space that is indusive to all. some highlights included knocking the gnnch off the
chimney. Anna's Animals. churros and never forgetting Santas grotto. he's the real one by the
The whole event is one of light and joy and the perfect thing to brighten everyone's hearts and
kick off the festive season.
Bingo
Garden gate, number 81 This event is a real chance for everyone to get together and have a
fun evening, hosted by the school and the PTA. Wrth our headmaster calling out the numbers
and pizza being ordered for dinner. as well as a ch*ky little beverage for those who wanted,
the whole evening is one of excitement and enthusiasm. With multiple rounds of bingo, and a
games and activity table to keep the younger ones busy there were certainty a lot of winners
on Ihe night. This. like all a lol of the PTA events. is about bringing the community together for
some fun and reprieve in our oflen hectic lives and giving everyone the chance to let Iheir hair
down and make connections with those involved in their children's lives.

Easter Egg Hunt
Spring is always such an exating time of year and this year Yfas no different. The PTA host a
delighfful easter egg hunt every year and this year's theme was 'Minions'! There were
bananas hidden all over the music field and the children had the pleasure of hunting them all
down to discover the clues that would unlock their easter egg.
With a giant yellow minion greeting children
on the field and volunleers and staff on hand
to ensure the children were supported where
necessary while also being gNen the
opportunity for independent discovery rt was
a wonderful day. The younger students had
the best time in the fresh air with Iheirfriends,
dashing about and finding those pesky
bananas, Wrth their uttimale reward being
able lo choose their favounte Easter egg or
festive treat. While the year 7 and 8 boys may
have felt that a hunt was a little Juveni￿ for them. spring treats and chocolate has no ag6
boundariesl As such for those in the older years a selection of quizzes were prepared and
handed out in form time lo be completed and exchanged for delicious treats at the end of the
school day.
Summer Fayre
With the sun shining and the smell of candffjoss in the air. Lochinver created the most
delighfful Summer Fayre this year. The whole day was an amazing success, with Lochinver
parents and staff creating a BBQ that was worth a visit or five, face painting some incredible
designs, operating excrting new stalls such as crockery smash and messy play spaces, and
some lime honoured favouriles like preloved loys and sports lombola to name but a few.
We also had the pleasu￿ of the whole school coming together to show case their talents, from
the bands, lo ensembles, the house singing compelilion and Lochinver's gol talent, Ihe school
really does nurture talent in all its fomis. The layout changes from last year returned allowing
us time and space for some wonderful central arena displays and games. We were treated lo
an incredible display of talent from our taekwondo sludenls, watching those lrtlle feel break
the wood in haw was ￿alty qutte an incredible testament to Ihe power of practice and
determination.

This year the PE department also agreed to run the central area games, allowing Ihose who
were shyer or who had other commitments to come foMard in their own time and compete in
the various classic games such as egg and spoon and three-legged races. The tug of war is
always a favourile with the parents winning against the teachers for the first time in quite a few
yearsl I'm sure they are all already in training lo regain
their title next year.
A huge amount of planning and thought goes into
such an event both on the day and in the months
leading up to the event from all involved. The event
however is so worth all the time and though pul into it.
to be in the sunshine and part of such an incredible
community is something rather special.

Second Hand Unifom) Sales
Once again, we thank Laura Weinburg and Victoria Polden for their ongoing support in the
LHS Second Hand uniform store. The store is an invaluable resource lo parents, providing an
efficient way to purchase unrform rtems but also enabling families lo buy necessary items at
an affordable price. Thank you for all your effort and for once again raising money to support
the work of the PTA.

Our Financial Donations to the School
In aulumn 2024, it was our responsibility to approve spending from the funds raised in 2023-
24. As per previous years, £5,000 of Ihe funds raised were put aside in reserves, in order to
support fundraising rf expenses are incurred due lo event cancellations. For example, rf the
summer fele were lo be Can￿lled due lo extreme bad weather. However, this money is also
earmarked to go towards funding the Lochinver Ball that takes place every 5 years, in order
to celebrate the anniversary of Lochinver House School. The next ball is due to take pla￿ in
May 2027, and this event in itself is also a fantastic fundraiser for the PTA.
After £5,000 was pul aside. this left us with a budget of £12.800 to spend. Al the AGM in
September, the staff presented the PTA with a wish list of things they would like this money lo
be spent on and after the list was passed lo all PTA members and Class Reps for consultation,
the final list was then approved in October 2024. We were delighted lo be able lo provide the
school wrth some wonderful equipment, games and genuinely enriching experiences. These
included new House Banners, Robotics equipment, a printing press, theatre lighting, a new
sports hall curtain and a pantomime visit.
As mentioned above, we also had the pleasure of giving the school nearly £40.000 that had
been raised by PTA committees over the last decade, in order to fund the changes lo our
central playground. This was a real honour and we thank all previous committee members for
all of the hard work they put in to contribute toward that staggering amount of money.
The 2025-2026 PTA Toam
Most of the current PTA team will be stepping away from the committee at the upcoming
AGM. However, we are delighted to say that Kimbedey Calherall will remain as a committee
member in order to ensure a smooth transrtion. The 2025-26 PTA Team are..
