Object of the Charity
The Alveston Village Association is a registered CIO. The charity number is 1205827 and was
incorporated on 22nd November 2023.
The main objective and activities of the charity will be to run and maintain a village hall Iknown
as the Malt House), land, including rivèr frontagè ISwiff8n Bank) and the field next to the War
Mgmorial (known as the Memorial Fieldl, for the recreation and benefit of the inhabitants of
Alvoston.

Any residgnt of Alveston, agad 18 y8ars and over and listed on the current electoral role as
permanently resident in the village of Alveston for 12 months, is a Member of the CIO and
can attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting.
All Trust88s rètire from office and are re-elected at th9 AGM by the Members each year.
The Chair is s818cted by the Trustees and will serve a term of two years. Th8 Chair is
responsible for th8 induction of any n&w trustèe, which includes awareness of the
Association's responsibilities, the rules of the charity. financial statemants and an
understanding of the responsibilities of a charity trustee.
The Trustees regularly reviews the risks faced by thg charity.

Future plans
This CIO has been dormant from incorporation to date awaiting the transfer of all its ag$ets
from Charity No 223913. The plan is to com plete the transfer of all assets on 1°, February 2025.

consistent with these aims.
Statement of trustoes, responsibilities
Charity law requires the trustees to prepare financial statamants for each financial year
which show a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and its financial activities
for that period. In preparing those financial statemants, the trustees are required to:

Make judgèments and estimates that are reasonable and prudent

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting rècords which disclose with
reasonable accuraey at any time the financial position of the charity and to enablo tham to
ensure that the financial statemants comply with the Charities Act 2011. They ar8 also
r9sponsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonablé steps
for the prevention and dotection of fraud and othér irr6gularities.

Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Sralemenl of
Recommended Practice ISORPI, 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities" published in 2019
and Finanaal Reporting Standard 102.

Incoming resources
Incoming resources are included in the Statement of Financial Activities when th8 charity
is lègally antit18d to thè income and their amount can be measured with reasonable
rtainty.
Resources expended
All expenses are accounted for on an accruals basis. Wh8r8v8r possible costs have been
charged directly to the activity to which they relate.
Costs of générating funds include fundraising costs incurred by the charity in s88king to
raise income for th8 charity.
Governance costs are those costs incurred in connection with compliance with
constitutional and statutory requirements.
