Structure, governance and management
The Charity is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation – Association governed by Constitution and Church Handbook. Trustees are elected by members of the Charity.
The Charity (CIO) was dormant for the duration of the reporting period, awaiting the transfer of assets and closure of the old, unincorporated charity which continues operating in the meantime (East Hanney Mission (also known as Hanney Chapel); a charity excepted from registration).
Objectves and actvites
Summary of objects of the charity set out in the governing document (NOTE - The Charity (CIO) was dormant for the duration of the reporting period) –
The purposes of the Church are:
-
the advancement of the Christian faith in accordance with the Basis of Faith primarily but not exclusively within East Hanney, Oxfordshire and the surrounding neighbourhood; and
-
such other charitable purposes as shall, in the opinion of the charity trustees, put into practice the Christian faith in accordance with the Basis of Faith, including but not limited to: the prevention and relief of need, hardship and sickness; the advancement of education; and the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with
the object of improving their conditions of life;
provided that the advancement of such purposes must be undertaken in a manner that is consistent with the Doctrinal Distinctives and Ethical Statements as may be adopted and amended by the Church from time to time in accordance with the provisions of the Church Handbook.
Summary of main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to the objects (NOTE - The Charity (CIO) was dormant for the duration of the reporting period) –
Our church activities are detailed below. These are all open to the general public.
Weekly: Sunday morning and evening services including activities for children; Hanney Toddlers’ group; Thursday and Friday evening youth activities; Bible study and prayer meetings; Pastoral Care Groups (bible study/prayer/support).
Monthly: Coffee Morning (bible study with coffee & cakes); a men's breakfast.
Annual or irregular: Ladies' Breakfast; Outreach events (meal/quiz/seminar); Children’s Holiday Bible Club; Carol Services.
Achievements and performance
The Charity has been dormant during the reporting period awaiting the closure of the CUA charity .
Financial Review
The Church Officers constantly review the level of funds and seek to ensure sufficient is carried forward to meet anticipated expenditures necessary to enable the church to continue its activities and to maintain its properties in good condition.
